He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ann; adopted daughter, Mariaha; two step-children, Susan and Derik; daughter-in-law, Denise; brother, C. S. Croy, of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Nyla Clower and Mary Price, of Princeton, W. Va; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends that loved him dearly. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace, with visitation 1-2 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. on June 29, 2016.⁴

He was known throughout southern West Virginia as "Lotto man" to many of his customers. For over 20 years, Mr. Hubbard raised pigeons. He was known as a Pigeon Fancier and had competed on various levels of composition. He was known throughout this country and on the international level. He had won many contest at the International Show held in Louisville, Ky. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Shirley Ann Neal Hubbard; his children which he loved very much, William G. J. Hubbard and wife, Lisa of Stony Point, N.C., Ryan Luke Hubbard of Burbank, Calif., and Jessica Rae Hubbard of the home; sisters, Mary Price, Nyla Clower, and Faye Keffer all of Princeton; and brothers, Clarence Croy of Columbus, Ohio, Cecil Croy of Greenville, Tenn., and Rick Witt of Rich Creek, Va. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hubbard will be conducted 8 p.m. today at the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Rev. Franklin Adkins officiating, assisted by the Revs. David Repass and Keith Adkins. The family will honor Mr. Hubbard's request, his body will be cremated following his service. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Friday at the White Family Cemetery on the Pisgah Road near Princeton with Dale Smith and Scott Gordon serving as Urn carriers.
