She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Crist, on Dec. 1, 1996, and a brother, Franklin McCallister. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church of Hico and attended Calvary Baptist Church of King, N.C. Mary Ann was a homemaker. Surviving: daughters, Mary Jo Crist Trowbridge of Oak Hill and Kim LaPierre and her husband, Jim, of Edgemont, S.D; a son, Kevin Crist and wife Kelly of Ansted; sisters, Josephine Hobbs of Tazewell, Va., Frances Maddox of El Paso, Texas, Nancy McCallister of Mentor, Ohio, and Elizabeth McComas of Smithers; sisters-in-law, Sue Shuff and Mary Crist, both of Ansted; grandchildren, Lori Ann Black, Larry Trowbridge, Amanda Jo Pancake, Jessica Erin Comer, Seth Carte, Abbie Bostic Crist, Joey Crist, Autumn Crist, Brandon LaPierre, Zachary LaPierre, Devin LaPierre, and Westin LaPierre; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Jan. 9 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Rev. Joe Collins and Rev. Clarence Grigsby officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Victor. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Pastors Melvin Muncy and Randall James Campbell, II officiating. Geier, 79, a retired electrical engineer for NASA, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at home. A native of Rochester, NY, he moved here from Clermont in 2003. Mr. Geier was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God Church. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Hazel J.
