He was a retired custodian with the Mercer County Board of Education retiring from Oakvale School in 1985. He was of the Protestant faith, a life-long resident of the Ingleside area, a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II, and the last surviving member of his immediate family. Joe was a master gardener taking pride in his ability to raise flowers and vegetables to sell at the Farmer's Market in Princeton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby "Margaret" Skeens Terry on Oct. 3, 1978; two sisters, Aileen Sprinkle and Martha Fitzwater; three brothers, Woodrow Terry, Charlie Terry and George "Phil" Terry; and a half brother, Mack Hudson. Survivors include three sons, Bobby Joe Terry, Jimmy Terry, and Bobby Wayne Terry all of Princeton; five daughters, Rita Terry of the home, Peggy Terry of Kentucky, Holly Roark of Princeton, Candy Terry of Oakvale and April Terry of Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Delmar Stilwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Brown Cemetery in Hardy with the WV National Guard Honor Team conducting military graveside rites. At Joe's request, his daughters will serve as pallbearers along with Mark Roark, Alvin Dale Shrewsbury, Jimmie Martin, James Roark, Carl Dickerson and Larry Rice. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today. on January 26, 2007.1

Born in Princeton on June 21, 1947, she was the daughter of the late George "Phil" Terry Sr. and Clover Maxine Pennington Terry. She was previously employed by the Council on Aging in Princeton. She enjoyed flower gardening, antiques and playing Bingo. She was of the Baptist faith. Margaret will be remembered for her kindness and courage. Survivors include her daughter: Denise Helton of Nicholasville, Ky; brothers and sisters, George "G.P." Terry of Elgood, Glenda Smith of Ingleside, Nancy Ordahl and Teresa Kinsey both of Georgia, and Jerry Wayne Terry of Princeton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Family Cemetery on the Halls Ridge Road in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Richard Wayne Helton was born on May 16, 1952 at Hanover Co., Virginia.1,2,3 He married Margaret Ann Terry, daughter of George Philip "Phil" Terry Sr. and Clover Maxine Pennington, on September 11, 1976 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.1 Richard Wayne Helton died on October 15, 2010 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 58.3 He BLUEFIELD - Richard Wayne "Ricky" Helton, 58, of Maryland Avenue, Bluefield, formerly of Princeton, died early Wednesday morning, October 13, 2010 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield. Born May 16, 1952 in Richmond, Va., he was the son of the late George Helton and Virginia Barnett Helton. Ricky was a graduate of Princeton High School and a former construction supervisor for Compton Construction Company in Princeton. Ricky enjoyed reading, music, watching college football and was an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ronnie, Randy, Roger and Jerry Helton. Survivors: One daughter, Crystal Denise Helton of Charleston, S.C; two brothers, Johnny Helton of Bluefield, Danny Helton of Honaker, Va; several nieces and nephews. The family has honored Ricky's request, and his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held Today (Friday), October 15, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Lyle Mullens officiating. on October 15, 2010.3
