We would like to give our sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Leslie Popplewell, Dr. Harry Openshaw, physician's assistant JJ Anderson, and the entire staff at the City of Hope for their devotion and loving care. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Donald and Carol Macleery Gollighugh, formerly of Pratt and later Fayetteville, N.C. Surviving are his sister, Paula Gollihugh Caruthers and husband, Roger, of Diamond; nieces and nephews, Donald Ryan Bowen of Nitro, Christopher Bowen of Cross Lanes, Joshua Caruthers and wife, Beth, of Huntington, Jennifer Brunson of Fayetteville, N.C., and Malissie Caruthers of Nitro; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and wonderful relatives and wonderful friends. Michael will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him. He had the ability to brighten a room with his presence and special aura. Michael's zest for life was contagious, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand with a smile on his face. Even in death Michael taught us a very valuable lesson: Love those around you with everything you have. Take every opportunity to show kindness. Tomorrow is never promised to us, it is a gift. on October 9, 2015.2
