Martha Lynn Carper Mrs. Martha Lynn Carper Barney, 79, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at her home. Martha was born in Roanoke, Virginia to the late John Allen Carper and Theora Mae Morris Carper on August 30, 1939. She was married to the love of her life John Early Barney Sr. for 63 years. She was a longtime member of Hanes Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all her heart and served him in a lot of different ways. Martha loved to cook and have gatherings with her family. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Martha enjoyed going to the mountains, and while there she would sight see, take in shows and go to Dollywood. She also loved listening to gospel and country music. Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brother, John A. Carper Sr. She is survived by her husband, John Early Barney Sr; daughter, Donna Gallimore and husband Dennis; son, John Early Barney Jr. and wife Tina; seven grandchildren, Amber; Sam; Ashlee; Jade; Skyler; Rhys; Makena; three step grandchildren, Brian; Jason and Jenni; eight great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren; one sister, Ellyn Potter; countless friends and church family. He had many abilities that led him to become a person that everyone who met him would say “He is such a great and wonderful person, one of a Kind.” He will be truly missed.
