Shirley Edith Bowling Shirley Edith Bowling Chittum, 67, of Vinton, VA, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014. The following memorial was written by her son Mike: I've been to too many funerals in all my 40 years on earth. I have listened to this song so many times, but Monday morning this week, I finally heard it. Our sweet momma went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and if I could bear the strength to sing at her funeral, these would truly be the words: I know your life on earth was troubled and only you could know the pain. You weren't afraid to face the devil, you were no stranger to the rain. Go rest high on that mountain, Mom, your work on earth is done. Go to Heaven a'shoutin! "Love for the Father and the Son."
