He was born near Mena, Arkansas on January 10, 1918 to Henry and Lucy Holland. He served during World War II in the Army Anti-aircraft artillery. On June 12, 1946 he was married to Janice McKiver, and they celebrated their 60th anniversary in June of this year. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1952 and he worked as a jeweler. He later established his own insurance agency and eventually became a real estate broker. He was a member of Village Seven Presbyterian Church and served as a Gideon. He is survived by his wife Janice; daughters Suzanne and Wanda; grandchildren Robin, John and Janina; three great-grandchildren: David, Mercedez and Anthony. He is also survived by a brother Orel of Ada, Oklahoma and several nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 3311 West Carefree Circle, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917. Mr. Holland, was born in Ink, Arkansas on April 1, 1920 to the late Henry Leonard Holland and the late Lucy Jane Kennett Holland. After embarking on an exciting and adventuresome life, he spent his last years in Boerne. He was married to Harvy Leah Embry until she grew ill and passed away, then met and married the late Pauline May Morris. Among hard work and many travels, he was also a patriot, serving in the United States Army and working as a pattern maker at Renova Shirt Factory and then for Cowden’s after it was sold, as a Marker, until he retired. Mr. Holland was good man that loved his family, his life, and his Lord. He will be missed. Survivors are: Nephews: Rodney Holland of Mena, Arkansas, Dale Holland of Star City, Arkansas, Lester H. Stephens of Spring, Texas, Paul R. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at the Concord Baptist Church in Ink, Arkansas with Brother Jerry Taylor and Brother Don Sayre officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery in Ink under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Don Brewer. Arnold Lunsford, Jeff Gilchrist, Jerry Hansbrough, Dale Holland, and Rodney Holland. He passed from this life into eternity with his Lord Jesus in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on August 24, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents; Owen and Nellie, sister, Barbara Waring, brothers; Dennis Norris, and Billy Norris, and his nephew, Scott Waring. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Wanda Norris, son, Greg Norris of Bokoshe, sister and brother-in-law; Myra and Wayne Trahern of Broken Arrow, sister-in-law, Phyllis Norris of Kent, Washington, nieces Sandra, Gayle, Diane and Rhonda, several great nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Roger was a graduate of Bokoshe High School and Poteau Junior College. He served in the United States Army from 1957-1959, including time in South Korea between July of 1957 until October of 1958. He was discharged from the Army Reserve in 1963. He worked for many years for the Evans Coal Company and later for Whirlpool Corporation, where he retired. He was an avid fan of the OU Sooner football team, and enjoyed following local sports on television, radio, and in several newspapers. He has been a member of Old Bokoshe Baptist Church since the age of twelve. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Bokoshe First Baptist Church with Reverends Fred Wegert, Sam Watkins, and Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will be at Old Bokoshe Memorial Garden under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Pallbearers will be; Charles Bailey, David Lyons, Charlie Restine, Kenneth Vincent, Christopher Waring, and Duane Whitecotton. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Phillip Arter, James Cox, Earl Smith, and Brother Jerry Turner.3 He was born on July 6, 1934 at Ink, Polk Co., Arkansas.3 He married Wanda Unknown circa 1964.3 Donald Roger Norris died on August 24, 2019 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Arkansas, at age 85.3
