Dorothy Alice Walker was buried at Crotty Cemetery, Pinoak, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2 She Early Tuesday morning, Dorothy Alice Walker Poff, 90, of Princeton went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long illness. Born June 22, 1929 at Pemberton, she was the daughter of the late Eldridge and Nannie Mae Tilley Walker. Dorothy was a graduate of Matoaka High School, Class of 1947.She was well known in Wyoming and Raleigh Counties for her gifts of Art and Crafts, having participated in the Appalachian Arts and Crafts festival for 35 years. Dorothy retired from the WV Extension Service in Wyoming County after many years of service. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Lee Poff and five siblings, Evelyn Gillespie, Dana Pettry, Imogene Wood, Roger Walker and Sheila Rae Payne. Those left to cherish her memory, her five devoted and loving children, Barbara Phlegar (Joe), Larry Poff (Sherry), Judy Laxton, Jackie Poff (Ruby) and Sandra Wallen (Andy); Nine grandchildren; Thirteen great-grandchildren; Twelve great-great-grandchildren; Three siblings, Ronald “Bernard” Walker (Nancy), Marlene Dillon, and Sylvia Kinzer (Daniel); Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2020 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Elder Richard Gillespie officiating. Donald Keith "Donnie" Poff Donald Keith Poff, 81, of Oak Hill passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born July 11, 1942 in Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late Raymond and Louise Epperly Poff. Donald was a proud United States Army Veteran serving in the special forces Green Berets. He was a retired Welder, Electrician, and construction worker. In his leisure time he enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Gardening, and was very passionate and faithful to his church family at the Solid Rock Church. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by son, David Poff; and several brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife of 57 years Gloria Myers Poff; children, Kevin Poff and fiancé LeAnn Saul, Brian Poff and fiancé LeAnn McAdams, and Melissa Sabad (Alex); 5 grandchildren, Marissa, Kaley, Michael, Carson, and Caden; 2 great grandchildren, Kasyn and Emmalyn; 4 sisters, Vickie Morris (James), Sherry Davis (Jeff), Linda Johnson, and Joetta Armstrong; and 1 brother, Richard Poff. Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Donna Hodge and husband Ron Hodge of Oak Hill, and Denyse Flint and husband Rick Flint of Fayetteville; granddaughter Heather Hewitt of Oak Hill; family members, and friends. Bob was best known for his work at the City of Oak Hill where he received awards for patrolling the school zones and helping the children and teachers. He will be sadly missed by all. Prior to that he worked for Long-Airdox Company in Oak Hill. Elsie Marie Poff Elsie M. Ketchem, age 78, a resident of Mansfield Place and a former resident of Chestnut St. Philippi passed away Wednesday January 2, 2019. Elsie was born January 9, 1940 in Oakhill, WV, a daughter of the late Raymond and Louise (Epperly) Poff. Elsie was twice married first to her former husband, Edwin H. Holbert who survives and secondly to William Ketchem who survives. Also surviving four children, Dawn Carey and husband, Mark, Sherri Hixson, Scott Holbert and Edwin Holbert Jr; six sisters, Linda Johnson, Vicki Morris, Barbara Myers, Sherry Davis, Joetta Armstrong and Ruth Delozier; two brothers, Richard Poff and Donnie Poff and wife, Gloria; six grandchildren, Chelsea Sturm, Mark Carey II, Stephanie Hixson, Courtney Holbert, Haleigh Hixson and Marissa Carey and three great-grandchildren, Izabella Martinez, Izaac Nevins and Makenna Carey. Elsie was a homemaker and had also worked in the Coal Mines for Kitt Energy.
