She was born to Samuel Shields Jett and Kate Harmon Jett in Salem, Va., on April 14, 1928. She joins her husband of 53 years, James R. Taylor, Jr; son, James R. III; her parents; brothers, John, Bob and Bud. She is survived by her sister, Shielda Jett (Jack) Ballantyne; sister-in-law, Betty Ann (Jim) Keavney; brother-in-law, Mickey L. (Kathy) Taylor; daughters, Mona K. (Mac) Caruthers and Tara L. Taylor; daughter-in-law, Edie Taylor; granddaughters, Sara, Jane and Erin; great-grandsons, Christopher and Jayden; and many nieces and nephews. Sara was a small town girl who fell in love with a sailor returning from World War II. Jim joined the U.S. Army and Sara being the incredible wife, mother, grandmother and friend that she was followed him around the world; making a home wherever he was sent; raising their children and taking care of him. She was always the rock and glue we all needed for security and unconditional love. She will be sorely missed by all of us. Her family will have a private service and ask that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in Sara's memory to the Alzheimer Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Twin Cities Cremation and Funeral Services, 1405 E. John Sims Parkway, Niceville, FL 32578. on October 11, 2011.4
