He was an Army veteran, and retired from DuPont with more than 34 years of service in the maintenance section. He was a member of Smith Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are two sons, Ernest “Ernie” Conner of South Hill and Ronald Conner of Richmond; one brother, Raymond Conner of Martinsville; sister, Norma Jean Smith of Reidsville, N.C; and three grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Burial Park. Military honors will be provided by the Martinsville-Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. on December 4, 2011.1

She attended Radford College and was an active member of the TRI CLUB Women's Club from 1966 to 1987, serving as various committee chairs. She and Jack were active in the ACCA Temple Shrine and the ACCA Shrine Motor Patrol. Dot and Jack retired to Reedville, Va. in 1987. Family came first and she was an avid bridge player throughout her life. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Heathsville, Va. Graveside services followed at Westhampton Memorial Park. on November 30, 2011.3
