They moved to Albuquerque, near their son, Mark and started their own lawn service. Juanita loved to garden, both vegetables and flowers. Juanita collected turtles and was known for her home-made noodles. Juanita also loved to play card games and collect knick-knacks. Juanita was very generous, warm, hardworking, caring and had a great sense of humor. Juanita was a friend to all, and especially loving to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Juanita was a loving mother and grandma and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Interment will take place in Pennington Cemetery in Sigourney, IA. on February 5, 2017.⁶

She loved, the outdoors gardening and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clayborn on July 30, 1973, granddaughter Julie Reinert, two brothers Charles Ulin, and John Ulin. She is survived by her daughter Darlene (Steve) Reinert of Davenport, son Eugene (Peggy) Beasley of Sigourney, four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a sister Juanita Cook of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He grew up on the farm and attended Sigourney Schools. Charles enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II, serving as a mechanic on the USS Marquette and the USS Francis M. Robinson. He crossed the Atlantic many times on these destroyers as they escorted troop carriers to Europe. During his enlistment, Charles married Eveleen Hammes on August 25, 1943. To this union three daughters, Charlene, Rita, and Janice were born. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy on January 16, 1946, Charles returned to Iowa and began his career in farming. He spent his lifetime farming southwest of Sigourney until his health failed in the fall of 2005. Charles was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Farm Bureau. He was a steward of the land and always enjoyed raising cattle. He loved the outdoors and was a master at finding morels. He was always up for a game of cards or a game of dice. In retirement he loved to help his grandsons with their farming and was always ready with advice.
