     Basil Ray Graham was born on July 19, 1925 at Herndon, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.5 He married Evelyn Virginia Wagner on January 20, 1946 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.4,6,9 Basil Ray Graham died on September 11, 2015 at Virginia at age 90.4 He Basil Ray Graham, a long-time resident of Smith Mountain Lake, in Goodview, Va., passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, following the death of his beloved wife, Evelyn, in June of this year. Born in 1925 in Herndon, W.Va., to Stacy Aaron Graham and Velma Poff Graham Hylton, Basil had three siblings, Amos Graham, Lorine Graham Kleim and Kenneth Graham. Basil served in World War II in the United States Navy as part of the Pacific Campaign. Following the conclusion of the war and his honorable discharge, he married the love of his life, Evelyn (Wagner) Graham. They enjoyed 69 rich and happy years together. Basil was an electrician, a member of the IBEW, and an active member of the Melrose Masonic Lodge. An avid golfer, Basil was a member and supporter of Blue Hills Golf Club and enjoyed the sport wherever he traveled. He passed his love of golfing to his grandchildren. Basil was a devoted family man with a kind soul. Basil is survived by his daughters, Velvet Hammond (husband, David) and Anne Sumpter, who reside in Roanoke. Basil is also survived by four adoring grandchildren, Scott Hammond, Stacey Hammond Beard, Graham Sumpter, all of Roanoke, and James Sumpter of Little Rock, Ark; and three great-grandchildren, Lyle, Lauren and Grayson. The family thanks the wonderful staffs at Pheasant Ridge Senior Living Community, Good Samaritan Hospice, and Dr. Timothy Beirne for their kindness and loving care. on September 15, 2015.4

     William Roger "Bill" Dooley William Dooley, 56, of Oak Hill was killed in an accident at the Kingston Mining Inc. No. 1 Mine at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2010. Dooley was taken to Raleigh General Hospital where he was declared dead. Dooley was an experienced roof bolting machine operator, who began working for Kingston in August 2001. He is survived by a wife and three children.6 He was buried at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, Fayette Co., West Virginia.1,2 He William Roger "Bill" Dooley was born March 25, 1954 at Oak Hill, the son of the William Rexford and Ruby Bruno Dooley. Bill was a coal miner having worked for Alpha Natural Resources at the Kingston Mining Inc., No 3 mine. A veteran of the US Army he served as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky and Kenneth Dooley and by one sister, Carol Perdue. Surviving are his wife Joyce Jackquline Beals Dooley, his children, Kenny Wayne Dooley of Oak Hill, Amanda Dooley of Fayetteville and William "Billy" Dooley of Oak Hill, and his grandchildren, William "Willy" Dooley, Dustin Wayne Dooley, C. J. Dooley all of Fayetteville, and Hayden and Seth both of Oak Hill. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Betty Castleman of Grand Rapids, Mich., Sherry Painter of Oak Hill, Karen Lefevers of Roanoke, Va., Jerry Dooley of Oak Hill, Raymond Butler of Oak Hill and Dorothy Owens of Lewisburg. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oak Hill. Billy Dooley, Kenny Dooley, Kevin Painter, Chris Kincaid, Willie Dooley, Dustin Dooley, Keith Rice, Timmy Harrah and Zack Harrah will serve as pallbearers. He will be sadly missed by his surviving wife, children, grandchildren, family and co-workers. This man Bill Dooley lost his life Monday, October 11, 2010 in a underground coal mine accident and died at 12:05. This man is my papaw, my dad and everything in life. He was a great man and I don't know what I am to do without him in mine and my family's life. Please pray for me to stay strong and respect every single coal miner out there today because of they risk their lives every day. I will miss you papaw and I love you like the dad I never had.
