Spaton, both of Gretna, Va., and Brenda Poff of Floyd, Va; two sons, Ike Manning of Gretna and Ronnie Manning of Pittsville, Va; five stepdaughters, Norma McPherson of Roanoke, Ladena McPherson and Cathy Stewart, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Hilda Schoonever of Great Cacapon, W.Va., and Cynthia Idi of Newark, Del; two stepsons, Forrest McPherson of Greensville, Va., and Jimmy Humphrey of Hagerstown; three sisters, Connie Milliron of Rocky Mount, Va., Agnes King of Roanoke and Carol Nichols of Bent Mountain, Va; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rena Jameson; one son, Richard Manning; one sister, Carmel Crouch; and two brothers, Alton Manning and Gordon Manning. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Church of God in Hagerstown. Pastor Alvin A. Craig will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, with military honors by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42. The family will receive friends today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. on August 25, 2004.1
