     Leo Vernon Shanahan was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Woodbury Co., Iowa.² He was born on September 4, 1930 at Caddou, Colorado.^1,4 He married Mary Jane VanHouten on August 28, 1999.² Leo Vernon Shanahan died on December 25, 2010 at Sioux City, Woodbury Co., Iowa, at age 80.^4,2 He SIOUX CITY -- Leo Vernon Shanahan, 80, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at a local hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Sioux City, with the Rev. Alva Hohl officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Leo was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Caddou, Colo., the son of William Delton and Marilla Adeline (Dillon) Shanahan. Leo moved to Remsen, Iowa, in 1948, and began a 45-year career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a repair person. He was transferred to Sioux City in 1952 and continued serving the area until his retirement. He was united in marriage with Mary Jane VanHouten on Aug. 28, 1999. Leo was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. Leo enjoyed playing and listening to country music, woodworking, gardening, crocheting, wildlife and was a very creative artist. He was a non-stop jokester, who had a wonderful sense of humor at all times. He also worked at building his own home for his family to enjoy. Leo was a die hard fan of the Duke Blue Devils basketball team. Leo will be missed by his family which includes his wife, Mary Jane of Sioux City; his sons, Kirk Leo of Aiken, S.C., and Jeff Lynn of Tulsa, Okla; his daughters, Sheila Joan Shanahan of Santa Ana, Calif., and Gina Marie Wolf (Chad) of Salinas, Calif. He is also survived by his stepsons, Steven Bumsted of South Sioux City, Daniel Bumsted of Sergeant Bluff, Mark Bumsted (Diane) of Anthon, Iowa, Scott Bumsted (Tracy) of Huntington Beach Calif; a stepdaughter, Marcy Peterson (Erik) of Sioux City; three brothers, Ralph of Sedalia, Mo., Kenneth of Rogersville, Mo., and Raymond of Englewood, Colo; four grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and seven great-stepgrandchildren. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Melvin; sister, Velma; and sister-in-law, Ruby. on December 29, 2010.²

     Velma P. Shanahan was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3306 Greenridge Road, Sedalia, Pettis Co., Missouri.⁴ Her married name was Moore.³ She married Amuil H. Moore.^3,4 Velma P. Shanahan was born on September 18, 1932 at Colorado.^1,5,4 She died on May 16, 2008 at Missouri at age 75.^5,4

     Her Social Security Number was 490-42-7602.² Ruby Cecolia Klein was born on January 20, 1929.² As of May 9, 1947,her married name was Shanahan.¹ She married Ralph Lee Shanahan, son of William Delton Shanahan and Marilla Adeline "Rillie" Dillon, on May 9, 1947 at Warrensburg, Johnson Co., Missouri.¹ Ruby Cecolia Klein died on August 21, 1997 at age 68.²

Shanahan, 70, of Denver, CO, formerly of LaMonte, MO, died, June 25, 2011 at Denver Health Hospital, Denver, CO. He was born March 21, 1941 in LaMonte, MO to William D. and Marilia (Dillon) Shanahan. Raymond is survived by his wife, Donna and daughter, Tresa (Mark) and grandsons, Sean, Sebastian and Cody, all of Englewood, CO. He is also survived by brothers, Ralph Shanaha, of Sedalia, MO and Kenneth (Peggy) Shanahan, of Springfield, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert, Leo and Melvin Shanahan and one sister, Velma (Shanahan) Moore. There will be a graveside family celebration of his life on Sunday morning, August 29, at the LaMonte cemetery. on August 24, 2011.²

     Her married name was Curry.² Yvonne M. "Bonnie May" Swisher Yvonne M. “Bonnie Mae” Dennis, of Pomeroy, OH, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was a homemaker and had attended the Old Kyger Freewill Baptist Church. She was born to the late John and Laurah (Simpkins) Swisher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel Chapman, George Curry; and her brother, Michael Swisher. Bonnie Mae is survived by her husband, John Dennis; four daughters, Cheryl Ann Swisher and Dorothy Jayne Brooks, both of Cheshire and Freeda Chandler and Carla DeWeese, both of Mason, WV; twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Sheik Swisher and George Swisher, both of Ulee, FL, Elizabeth Jane Swisher, of Point Pleasant, Viola Watson, of Henderson, Karen Lemley, of Pomeroy and Carl “Boxer” Swisher, of Gallipolis Ferry; and also many nieces and nephews. Bonnie Mae’s life will be remembered at 6:00 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with her brother, Pastor Carl Swisher officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Bonnie Mae’s care has been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.² Her married name was Dennis.² She married John Dennis.² Yvonne M.      Daniel Buck "Danny" Chapman was buried at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Gallia Co., Ohio.³ He was born on July 15, 1960 at Point Pleasant, Mason Co., West Virginia.³ He died on March 29, 1980 at Lakin, Mason Co., West Virginia, at age 19.³ He Funeral services for Daniel (Danny) Chapman, 19, Rt. 1, Cheshire, will be held 1 p.m. Friday in the Cheshire Baptist Church with Rev. William L. Uber officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire. Friends may call at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Pt. Pleasant after 4 p.m. Thursday. Chapman drowned in the Ohio River March 29 following a boating accident. His body was found in the river at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday near Lakin. He attended Meigs and Kyger Creek High School. Chapman was born July 15, 1960, at Point Pleasant, son of Harold Chapman, of Melvindale, Mich., and Yvonne Swisher Dennis, Cheshire. Surviving besides his parents are: John Dennis, stepfather, Cheshire; four sisters, Cheryl Curry Swisher, Cheshire, Dorothy Owens, Pomeroy, Freeda and Carla Chapman, both of Cheshire; one brother, George Curry, Cheshire; and John F. Swisher, Middleport, a grandfather with whom he made his home. on May 15, 1980.³
