     Julia Lee Mills was buried at Alley Family Cemetery on Sewell Mountain, Rainelle, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.5 She Julia Lee Alley, 69, of Daniels, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, in the Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, following a long illness. Born September 14, 1947, in Salem, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John and Susie Powell Mills. Julia was a devoted homemaker, caring for everyone around her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Howard Stanley Alley; her brother-in-law Bobby Jack Alley; and 5 siblings Shirley, Clyde, Betty Jo, Johnny and Bobby. Survivors include her children Dina Alley of Daniels, Kelly Alley (Kim) of Virginia, Kevin Alley (Stephanie) of Beckley, Kris Alley (Tisha) of Shady Springs and Chandra Alley (Ronnie) of Kenna; 7 siblings Libby, Diane, Stevie, Donald, Gracie, Andy and Tony; 11 grandchildren Curtis, Brandi (Mark), Natasha (Billy), Sarah (Justin), Shelley (Steven), Kayla, John, Jacob (Candance), Zach, Kristopher and Courtney; and 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Burial will follow in the family cemetery on Sewell Mountain.5 She was born on September 14, 1947 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.4,5 As of September 5, 1964,her married name was Alley.2 She married Howard Stanley Alley on September 5, 1964 at Leaksville, Rockingham Co., North Carolina.2,5,6 Julia Lee Mills died on December 15, 2016 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 69.5

Born on September 1, 1943, at Bingham, he was the son of the late Albert Howard and Lovie Nutter Alley. Howard was a Viet Nam Army veteran, worked in construction and was of the Baptist faith. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He was a gifted artisan with wood such as jewelry boxes and gun cabinets. If he could see it in his mind, he could build it. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Julia Mills Alley; three sons, Kelly and wife Kim of Shady Spring, Kevin and wife Mikie of Prosperity and Kris of Shady Spring; two daughters, Chandra Alley of Reedsville, N.C., and Dina Alley of Daniels; three brothers, Bobby Jack Alley of Daniels, Donnie Alley and wife Glenna of Mebane, N.C., and Bernard Alley of Rainelle; two sisters, Ann Yearego and husband Jim of Rainelle and Jean Henson and husband Bill of Springdale; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in the Alley Family Cemetery on Sewell Mountain, Rainelle. on November 27, 2009.5

Kelly was born in Pulaski on October 23, 1964, and is the son of Mary Elizabeth Finn Goad and Garfield Goad. Kelly was a graduate of the Pulaski County High School class of 1983. He was baptized in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Galax, and became a member of the church. He is survived by his wife; Denise Goad of Fries: parents: Mary Elizabeth Finn Goad, and Garfield Goad of Pulaski: sons; Ricky Whitaker of Hillsville, and Ryan Whitaker of San Diego, CA: brothers; Robbie (Valerie) Goad of Pulaski, and Douglas Ray (Sandra) Goad and Evan of Pulaski: grandchildren; Nick, Sean and Caleb Whitaker, all of Hillsville, and Luke Whitaker of Marion: nephews; Grant (Brittany) Goad of Pulaski, Pastor Richie Goad of Greensboro, and Lucas Goad of Pulaski.
