     James Russell Sydenstricker On Tuesday, Dec. 9th, 2014, our son, brother, father, uncle and friend James Sydenstricker passed away at his home in Beckley. He was 53 years of age. The third of four children, James Russell Sydenstricker was born on March 9th, 1961, in Beckley. He was the son of Norma J. Sydenstricker of Mt. Tabor and the late Jack Sydenstricker. His brother Larry has preceded him in death. James' childhood was spent at Mt. Tabor. He was a talented welder and in his leisure time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his father, Jack, and brother, Larry, James was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Rebecca Lynn Martin, on Monday, Dec. 8th, 2014. In addition to his mother, Norma, those left to cherish his memory are his children, Nashala Sydenstricker of Beckley and Brandy Lee of Arizona. There are three grandchildren. James leaves his brother Aaron and his wife, Tammy, of Pilot Mountain, NC; as well as his sister, Lisa Weiford and her husband, Jim, of Shady Spring; James was the uncle of Amanda, Sierra, Felicia, Amber and Justin; he was the nephew of Donna Sydenstricker Berstler and her husband, Wayne, of Marengo, Iowa. Mr. Brown was a member of the First Church of God at Lester, was a union laborer belonging to Local 453 and was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold D. and Larry Brown. Other survivors include his wife, Tammie Kay Byrd Brown; a son, Daniel Edward Brown and a stepdaughter, Nashala Ann Sydenstricker, both at home; a brother, Johnny Mack Brown of Flat Top; two stepbrothers, Ricky Fannon of Pittsburgh, Pa., and James Fannon of Hawaii; three stepsisters, Beverly Canterbury of Gladwell Texas, Tammie Cisco and Kay Smith, both of Austin, Texas; stepfather, Richard Conrad Fannon of Midway; maternal grandmother Nora Heath of MacArthur and paternal grandmother, Mable Brown of Lester. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. on June 10, 1986.³
