Born Sept. 27, 1915, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late James C. “Jack” Neely and Effie Deweese Neely. He was a retired carpenter, working with the bridge construction industry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Mercer County Veterans’ Council. He was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include three brothers, Jack Junior Neely, Kenton Neely and Pete Neely, all of Oakvale; and a special companion, Jewel Larue of Princeton. Military graveside rites being conducted by the Sandy River Post #175 of Bradshaw and the Mercer County Veterans’ Council. on August 15, 1999.⁵
