Marcette Raye Akers was buried at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.5 She Marcette Vaughan, age 78, passed away at Methodist Medical Center in Richardson July 27, 2021. She was born to Harry F. and Wanda Kyer Akers October 14, 1942, in Parsons West Virginia. She will be buried in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery in Lancaster, Pennsylvania at a later date. Marcette married Stephen L. Burchett June 30, 1962, in Montrose, West Virginia and they had a daughter Kristina. Stephen passed away and she married James Vaughan in September of 1995 in Neffsville, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her daughter Kristina and husband Greg Toombs of Texas, brothers: Harry L Akers and wife Deb of West Virginia, and Micky Akers of West Virginia. She is also survived by her grandchildren Gabrielle, Alexandra and Adam Toombs and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Joanne Akers, both husbands and her parents. Marcette graduated from Elkins High School in Elkins, West Virginia. She loved reading, especially stories about the Amish people, knitting for family members, and going to casinos. She had a special love for Bethany Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she kept the books for many years. Most recently she attended Christ Fellowship Church in Anna before her health no longer allowed her to attend. She worked in Washington DC as a secretary and various other clerical positions for HUD, and for the Social Security Administration as a claims representative while raising her daughter. She spent the last 20 years retired, enjoying her family, friends, home and garden. Her greatest love was her family with whom she served and loved generously.5

He was also interested in railroads and flying, and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was a Methodist. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, he was a member of the American Legion, Post 945. He attended the University of Toledo and the American University, Washington, D.C. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Wells Burchett. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Kristina R., Arlington, Va. on June 10, 1991.2

Joan Jean "Jo" Rosier was buried at Schoonover Cemetery, Montrose, Randolph Co., West Virginia.2 She Joan “Jo” Jean Rosier Akers, 78, a resident of Montrose, passed from this life Saturday, May 7, 2016 at home surrounded by family. Jo was born Tuesday, December 28, 1937 on Clover Run, a daughter of the late Stephen B. Rosier and Hallie Claris Armstrong Rosier. On August 16, 1961 in Oakland, MD, she married Michael Reed “Mick” Akers who survives in Montrose. Also left to cherish her memory are three children, Michael Lynn Rosier of Parsons, Shawn Reed Akers and wife Madaline of Montrose and Tammy Tingler and husband Gary of Elkins, one sister, Sarah Jane Wolford, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Jo in death besides her parents was three sisters, Hildra Dae, Mary Katherine “Kate” Day, and Yvonne “Nub” Johnston, one brother, Willie Frank Rosier, one nephew, David Allen Wolford, Jr. and one great grandson. Jo graduated Parsons High School with the class of 1956 and had worked at the Maryland Cup Company. She was a Christian by faith. A private graveside service was conducted at the Schoonover Cemetery on the family farm in Montrose. Kurtis Robert Kitterman Kurtis Robert “Kurt” Kitterman, 54, passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2017. Kurt was born on May 17, 1963, in Charlotte. He was the son of Marjorie "Marge” Behrman Kitterman and the late Robert "Bob" Lee Kitterman. He graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1981 and went on to receive his degree in accounting from Clemson University in 1985. Kurt was employed at Bank of America for 21 years as a Senior Vice President within finance. Kurt was passionate about music and loved seeing it performed live. He enjoyed going to the beach and taking long walks with his dogs, Bear and Ellie. Kurt loved sports, especially the Clemson Tigers who he got to see win the National Championship in January. However, what he loved most of all was being with his family. Kurt is survived by his wife, Lisa Bennett Kitterman; son, Robert Bennett Kitterman; mother, Marge Kitterman; two sisters, Kamin K. Brennan (Steve) of Charlotte and Kristin K. Batsel (Kurt) of Marietta, Ga; brother-in-law, Brandt Bennett (Anita) of Charlotte; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Judy Bennett of Charlotte; nieces, Hannah Batsel and Katy Batsel; and nephews, Will Brennan and Wes Bennett.4 He was born on May 17, 1963 at Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina.2,4 He married Lisa Lynn Bennett, daughter of James Wesley "Pete" Bennett and Judith Louise "Judy" Sims, on January 30, 1993 at Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina.1,3,4 Kurtis Robert Kitterman died on May 25, 2017 at North Carolina at age 54.4
