     Martha Rebecca Hunt Martha R. Fisher, 92, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at home. She was born on January 13, 1921 to Charles and Clara (Curry) Hunt in Hancock County, Indiana. She was retired from General Motors in Anderson. Martha is survived by daughters, Donna (Stephen) Forstner and Mary Matney; six grandchildren, LaDonna Dowie, Patricia Bargo, Carl York, Stephen & Christopher Forstner and Rachelle Byrd; and two great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Donald Fisher; and son, Billy Lee Akers. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.² She was buried at Crownland Cemetery, 1776 Monument Street, Noblesville, Hamilton Co., Indiana.^2,3,4 Her married name was Akers.⁵ She married Raymond Ernest Akers, son of Ernest Raymond Akers and Olive Hester "Ollie" Dangerfield.⁵ Martha Rebecca Hunt was born on January 13, 1921 at Hunt Co., Indiana.^2,3,4 She died on September 11, 2013 at Noblesville, Hamilton Co., Indiana, at age 92.^2,3,4

Their absence was reported Sunday night. The Navy abandoned an air and sea search for Akers, 22, his wife Mary their six-month-old son David and Lance Cpl. Earl Steven, 22, of Baltimore, Md., Tuesday. William Simonds, owner of the borrowed rowboat, said an empty boat found at sea Wednesday night was not the one he had loaned the Akers. Navy officials Thursday began removing possessions left behind by the Akers family at the air station annex in Bermuda, where Navy Yeoman Second Class Akers was stationed. Akers had lived in the Anderson area all his life. on June 5, 1970.⁵ He A private memorial service was held at the Naval Reserve on East Oak St. for Billy Lee Akers, yeoman second class and family on Navy Chaplain DeLong was in charge of the service. Mr. Matney was born Oct. 14, 1939, in South Sioux City, the son of Fred and Opal (Wilson) Matney Sr. He was raised and educated in South Sioux City. He married Mary Akers on May 24, 1959, in South Sioux City. They moved to Indiana, where he worked for Allied Moving. They then moved to San Leandro, where he continued his employment with Allied Moving, until retiring two years ago. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, LaDonna and her husband, Tom of Waterbury, Conn., and Patty of San Francisco; his sisters, Bess and her husband, Albert Greenleaf of Mesa, Ariz., Betty Craig of Lakeville, Minn., Edna and her husband, Bob Pojar of South City and Burdell and her husband, Dale Tatman of Mesa; a brother, Fred Jr. and his wife, La Verne of Scott City, Kan; and six grandchildren.      Ruth Elaine Hoskins Ruth Elaine (Hoskins) Akers, 69, of Elkhart, IN, passed away Wednesday February 12, 2020 at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart. She was born on January 2, 1951 to Harold & Alta Marie Hoskins of Argos, IN. She is survived by her daughter Amy (Brian) Redar, a son, Christopher Akers, brother, Philip (Sandy) Hoskins, and a sister in-law, Sonya Hoskins. She is also an aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by both her parents and older brother, Ronald Hoskins. Ruth graduated from Argos High School in 1969. She attended Manchester College and Indiana State University. The majority of her working career was spent in banking and credit collections. Ruth’s final job prior to retirement was working for REAL Services as a Nutrition Site Coordinator. Ruth attended Trinity Lutheran Church of Elkhart for many years. She served as a Sunday School teacher, classroom tutor; and helped with the PTO. She was also known to don a homemade bunny suit and serve as the school’s Easter Bunny. She later attended Grace Lutheran Church of Elkhart. Per Ruth’s wishes, she will be cremated and her remains buried alongside her parents at Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Argos, IN. Ruth loved telling everyone she met about Jesus, she was always quick to tell a joke, and gave every nurse, patient, and doctor she met a piece of hard candy. In Ruth’s honor, her family asks that you share a funny joke, enjoy a piece of candy, and find an opportunity to share your faith with someone today.
