Mr. Ratliff was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Ann Ratliff. John is survived by his three children and their spouses, Donna and Daniel Keeley, Dean and Kaye Ratliff, and Linda and Daniel Andrew; as well as his six grandchildren, Brian, Nathaniel, Laura, Seth, Jacob, and Kate; his three great-grandchildren, Naomi, Samson, and Madeline; and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Ratliff.⁵ He was born on January 22, 1933 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,5 He married Dorothy Ann Martha Johnson on June 4, 1954 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^4,8 John Milton Ratliff died on January 18, 2024 at Virginia at age 90.⁵

She was born on August 2, 1933, in Evington, Va., to the late Robert and Mattie Johnson. She was an active life-long member of First Christian Church of Salem, and will always be remembered for loving her Lord. Prior to retiring with 20 years of service, she was a loyal employee of Valleydale as personnel manager, and enjoyed her active involvement as a representative of Avon. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Rescue Mission, and thoroughly enjoyed volunteering. She loved the outdoors and her avid walks. She loved family gatherings as her family was most important to her. Above all she will be remembered most as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will truly be missed. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Ratliff; son, Dean Ratliff and wife, Lisa; daughters, Donna Keeley and husband, Dan, and Linda Andrew and husband, Daniel; and grandchildren, Brian, Laura, Kate, Nathan, Jacob and Seth. A Graveside Service will be held at Cedar Lawn Burial Park in Roanoke. The family would like to offer special thanks to the nursing staff on 4 West at Richfield as well as Good Samaritan Hospice for all of their loving care and attention. on April 27, 2013.³
