Eric is also survived by many friends, including his former wife and mother of his daughter, Alex, as well as business associates. Eric graduated from Christiansburg High School and attended NRCC. He was the proud owner of Car Force, located between Christiansburg and Blacksburg. There will be a graveside service at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. on August 9, 2013.2

Kathryn M. Balling was born on February 25, 1953 at Wilmington, New Castle Co., Delaware.1,3 She died on September 11, 2014 at Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota, at age 61.1,3 She Balling, Kathryn M., age 61,died on September 11, 2014 at North Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Center of stage IV lung cancer. Having been diagnosed in 2010, she put up a long and courageous fight and was an inspiration to many. Kathy was born on February 25, 1953 in Delaware to Frank & Norma Balling. She was a Registered Nurse, graduating in 1973 from RSJC. She received her degree in Range Conservation from ASU in Tempe. She moved to Bozeman, Montana to work for the Forest Service. Several years later she returned to Minnesota to continue her nursing career, working for the last 11 years at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Her proudest accomplishment was her beautiful daughter Anna. She was an amazing mother, always working to better Anna’s life and provide opportunities for her. Kathy loved to travel and visit her friends in Washington State. She never hesitated to help a neighbor or volunteer. Kathy loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had many close friends and family members. She had a great perspective, insight and was always compassionate towards others. Kathy was always giving of herself. Even after death, donating her body to the University of Minnesota Medical School. Kathy was preceded in death by her father Frank Balling. Survived by mother Norma Balling, daughter Anna Gifford, sister Brenda Balling, sister-in-law Suk Cha and nephews, Victor and Ben Balling. She will be dearly missed by her lifelong friend and author of this remembrance, Mary Kay Viering, as well as many other great friends and colleagues. on September 14, 2014.3

Flynn Cowling, of Prince George; a nephew, Davis C. Cowling; maternal grandmother, Dorothy O. Remorenko of Gordonsville; paternal grandparents, G. B. Cowling, Sr. and Evelyn Cowling of Waverly; aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, F. M. Remorenko, Jr. He graduated from Tidewater Academy in 2003 and earned his B.A. in Economics as a 2007 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College. He was employed by Old Dominion Construction, Inc. of Smithfield. Courtney had a hobby of tinkering with "big toys," and he was a member of the Waverly Volunteer Fire Department. Interment will follow in the Waverly Cemetery.3 He was born on January 18, 1985 at Richmond, Virginia.3 He died on January 9, 2008 at Virginia at age 22.3
