     His Social Security Number was 429-34-1118.⁴ William Hastings Bransford Jr. was buried at Lonoke Cemetery, Lonoke, Lonoke Co., Arkansas.^2,3 He William Hastings Bransford, age 81 years, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, July 13, 2003. He was born November 12, 1921, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late William H. and Bessie Walt Bransford, Sr. Mr. Bransford grew up in Lonoke, Arkansas where he graduated from Lonoke High School. He spent two years at the University of Arkansas before transferring to Georgia Institute of Technology, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. After his graduation, he was employed by United Aircraft Corp., as a research engineer. During World War II Mr. Bransford was a naval officer. He served aboard a gunboat and rocket ship in the Pacific Theatre. After the war he was employed by Great Lakes Carbon Corp., as a division engineer in the buildings material division. In 1950 he returned to Lonoke to run the Bransford Gin Company. He and his family moved to Little Rock in the early 60's where he was involved in several enterprises, including an insurance company, farming, real estate development in Arkansas and Louisiana, and general investments. He was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a 32 Degree Mason, and The Poets Club. Mr. Bransford is predeceased by two brothers; Lee Walt Bransford and Dr. Robert Bransford, his wife Jane Cannaday Bransford, and his wife of twenty-seven years and the mother of his children, Frances Moses Bransford. He is survived by two daughters; Frances Beth Bransford and Mary Moses Sours and husband Don all of Chico, California, two sons William Hastings Bransford, III and Lawson W. Turner, III both of Little Rock, eight grandchildren, Susan, Caroline, and William Hastings Bransford, IV of Little Rock, Jane Ann Wagner of Sacramento, California, William Hamilton and Jacob Lawson Cooper of Chico, California, Mary Frances Isakov and husband Chris of Annapolis, Maryland, Withers Turner of Fayetteville, Arkansas and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services at Lonoke Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nursing staff, and therapists who gave such wonderful care to our father.      Arthur Eugene "Gene" Rhoten was buried at New Lutheran Cemetery, 3339 Locust Street, Manchester, Carroll Co., Maryland.³ His Social Security Number was 216-22-8379.⁵ He was born on April 1, 1928 at Hampstead, Carroll Co., Maryland.^2,5 He married Nancy Lee Kelley, daughter of Samuel Gray Kelley Sr. and Rennis G. "Wren" Smithson, on August 16, 1958.^1,2,6 Arthur Eugene "Gene" Rhoten died on July 16, 2009 at Maryland at age 81.^2,5 He Arthur Eugene 'Pippy or Gene' Rhoten, 81, entered into rest July 16, 2009, at his residence after a battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of the late Doris Jean Raver Rhoten and is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Kelley Rhoten. Born Sunday, April 1, 1928, in Hampstead, Md., he was the son of the late Lester 'Lee' Rhoten, Sr. and Gladys Ruth Davidson Rhoten. Mr. Rhoten attended school in Manchester, Md. He worked for Black and Decker for five years on the assembly line. He then worked as an insurance agent for Washington National for five years. He retired from United Insurance Company in 1991 after 31 years of service. In retirement, he worked for South Hills Golf Course as a starter and preferred to play golf rather than eat. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Don Sweigart of Berlin, Md., Sandra Drecchio of Parkville, Md., and Deborah and Butch Gemmill of Maryland Line, Md; his son and daughter-in-law, Kelly E. and Jody Rhoten of Owings Mills, Md; his stepdaughter, Brenda Joyce Hall and her husband, Eddie; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester 'Bud' and Dottie Rhoten of Manchester, Md., Robert and Jan Rhoten and Larry and Peggy Rhoten, all of Hanover; his sister-in-law, Gerry Rhoten; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Charlie Rhoten, and his sister, Frances Long. on July 17, 2009.²
