He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Betty Cole. He leaves behind his loving wife of forty-eight years, Sherri Cole; son, Travis (Brandy) Cole; grandchildren, Taylor, Isaac, Kiya, and Trevor; sister, Karen "Sissy" Hurd; brother, Tommy Cole; sister-in-law, Teresa Archer; very special niece, Lydia "Boo" Archer; nephews, Chris and Timmy (Misty) Berry; great-nephew, Ryan Berry; great-niece, Blaklee "Sweet P" Berry; mother-in-law, Bonnie Archer; special friends, Mike Wolfe, Buddy Sams, John Grooms, Chris Cole, the boys at the garage, the construction and car guys, and his many friends that has helped the family endure.² He was born on September 27, 1955.⁵ He married Sherri Jean Archer on February 7, 1976 at Hamblen Co., Tennessee.³ Richard Earl "Rick" Cole died on May 12, 2024 at Jefferson Co., Tennessee, at age 68.²
