     June Ruth Carr June Ruth (Carr) Beliveau, 67, Rapid City, passed away 12-12-12 at Hospice of the Hills following a seven year courageous battle with cancer. June was born on June 8, 1945, in Rapid City to Leonard and Kathleen Carr, the third of six children. The family lived at Viewfield where June started school at Lost Nation, a one-room country school. From there, the family moved to New Underwood and later to Rapid City where she graduated from Rapid City High School, class of 1963. June attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College before moving to Santa Barbara, California where she met and married Bud Harshbarger. The greatest joy of her life was the birth of her only child, Laura Lynn Harshbarger, December 23, 1967. Laura was that special/unique child that could light up a room when she entered. Laura was tragically killed in an auto accident several weeks before her high school graduation in Lompoc, CA. June later moved back to her beloved Black Hills where she married Roland Beliveau. They enjoyed the beauty of the hills every day from their home near Hisega. June worked as a bookkeeper over the years, and lastly at Black Hills Nursery, playing in the dirt. Her favorite hobbies and passions in life were cooking, baking, and eating. She loved to fix great food and share it with others. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen (Carr) Boland, Rapid City; sisters, Lorraine Schleuning, Warner Robbins, GA, Peggy Mills, Bartlesville, OK, and Judy Carr, Rapid City; brother, Wes Carr, Rapid City; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, six nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Roland's son, Bobbie Beliveau and grandson, "Little Roland" Beliveau. Karen King, Laura's best friend in high school has been June's "adopted" daughter and friend through the years; and family hospice dog, Murphy, that brought her so much joy and happiness. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura; husband, Roland Beliveau; father, Leonard Carr; and brother, Whitney Carr, who shared the same birthday. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Miss Harshbarger was born Dec. 23, 1967 in Santa Barbara and had lived in Lompoc for the past three years, moving here from Gillette, Wyo. She died Saturday morning following an automobile accident. Survivors include her parents, June Harshbarger and Buddy Harshbarger, both of Lompoc; and her maternal grandparents, Cathleen Wood of Gillette, and Leonard Carr of Rapid City, S.D. on May 12, 1986.³
