Tony Lee Green Tony Green, April 14, 1969 — January 16, 2020. Tony Lee Green was a good man. He loved his wife, Lestie, and his children, Mattie, Ella and Zach, more than can be expressed in words. They were his world, and he cherished his world and the life that he built. He worked to provide for his family and was also a stay-at-home father for a number of years, making sure to develop loving and meaningful relationships with his children and instill in them his love for his passions; things like music, antiquing, guns, and nature. Tony was a part of the Franklin County Search and Rescue Team, which was also incredibly important to him. The Search and Rescue Team provided an outlet for Tony’s intelligence and skill, as well as his deep kindness and true compassion. His children will remember late-night pages on the beeper that lived on his dresser, calling him away from his family to go help another. Others will remember the impact that he did have on their family, and his willingness to be there and do what he could. Tony was passionate about a lot of things, many of which will, when encountered, bring memories to those that knew and loved him, and shared these passions with him, whether through simple conversation or a deeper kinship. Tony loved fixing and building Jeeps and other cars. He was a skilled and devoted gunsmith, though not much of a hunter. He was an eclectic man, who collected not only objects, but skills and talents and knowledge, as well as friends from many walks of life. Tony lost a hard-fought bitter battle with Huntington’s Disease. This disease ripped him away from the family that he loved so much and severed his ability to perform his passions. His family and friends mourn for the years lost, and the memories that could have been shared. But that’s okay because wherever Tony is now there are Jeeps, and guns, and there’s music, and he’s happy and knows how loved he was. Tony Green, age 51 of Callaway, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020.4 He was born on April 14, 1969 at Franklin Co., Virginia.2,3,4 He married Lestie Jenece Leakey on April 10, 1993 at Lancaster Co., Virginia.3 Tony Lee Green died on January 16, 2020 at Virginia at age 50.4
