Mr. Pendleton was born in Kanacanak, AL. He was a son of the late James N. and Mary (Morrison) Pendleton, Jr. Mr. Pendleton was a psychologist with PA Counseling and spent much of his life in social work, most recently at York School District. Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons, James N. Pendleton IV and his wife Colleen, John Pendleton and his wife Teri; one daughter, Deeann Hertzler and her husband Paul; two granddaughters, Olivia and Violet Hertzler; two sisters, Joy Pendleton and Joanne Kennedy; one half brother, Tony Schuerch; three step daughters, Joanne Grimes, Donna Curtis and her husband Gary, Terese Fein and her husband Eric; three step grandchildren, Matthew and Melinda Curtis and Sarah Fein. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean. on June 27, 2011.²
