He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jesse and Edna Lumsden; 5 brothers, and 5 sisters. Clarence is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Lumsden; children, Linda Tuck (Tim), Michael Lumsden (Myrna), Jeffrey Lumsden (Linda); grandchildren, Nathan Lumsden (Becky), Nicholas Lumsden (Carolyn), Nevin Lumsden (Destinee), Lindsey Lumsden, Lauren Lumsden, Kristi Lumsden, John Lumsden, Christopher Lumsden; six great-grandcildren; and special niece, Denise Gilley (Mark). Clarence worked for Wright Furniture for 30 years and the retired from Roanoke City Public Schools. He loved anything Ford and could disassemble and then reassemble a motor blindfolded. David Pearson was Clarence’s favorite NASCAR driver, he loved the Redskins, later in life he developed a love for hockey and would attend games at Lancerlot frequently.      John Henry Haupt was buried at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens, 7271 Cloverdale Road, Cloverdale, Botetourt Co., Virginia.^3,4 He John Henry Haupt (USAF-MSG-Ret.) - Died Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Blue Ridge, Virginia at the age of 79. The cause of death is unknown. He was born July 28, 1934. John retired from the United States Air Force following 26 years of service at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was an At-Large Life Member of Vietnam Veterans of America – Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers and five sisters. Surviving family includes his faithful brother, Carl, who always stood by him; daughter, Deanna Rose; son, Gary Wayne and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Interment was in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
