Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Dora and Ernesto Fernandez. He is survived by his sons, Ernest, Rick (Pam), and Dennis Fernandez; his sister, Norma Farfante (Angel); his grandchildren, Ernest Jr., Melissa, Katherine, Emma, Domenic, and Ricky Fernandez, in addition to a wonderful and loving circle of extended family and friends. Born in Ybor City on December 2, 1938, and a lifelong Tampa resident, Ernie attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy, University of Tampa (Tampa U), and University of South Florida. His professional career as an educator spanned over 42 years with Hillsborough County Public Schools, exceling as a teacher, principal, and administrator, eventually centering on Adult and Community Education. He served as administrator of Brandon Academy from 1973-1986 and was very active in the Brandon community. He donated his time and expertise to many boards, advocating for educational excellence and improved teacher benefits. Ernie had a passion for cars, especially for Corvettes, which he enjoyed throughout his life. Interment immediately following at Garden of Memories Cemetery. on December 26, 2021.2

     Alfred Louis Machesney Alfred Louis "Danny" Machesney, 66, of Newport News, Virginia passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 12, 2014. Born on September 5, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio. Danny resided in Newport News, VA for the last 46 years. He was a graduate of Wintersville High School. A Vietnam Veteran, he served in the United States Army from 1965-1968, and then joined the Army reserves from 1968-1985. He retired from the Newport News Police Department as a Master Police Officer in 2010 with 37 years of devoted service. He was admired and respected by all of his fellow officers and was often called "Dad" by the new recruits. Danny was an active member of the local F.O.P. where he served as secretary/treasurer for many years. He was also an instructor for the local American Red Cross specializing in CPR for people and pets. He was recently elected to the board of his Home Owners Association and also was past president of the Harley Owners Group in Hampton Roads. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Goldie Hall Machesney, brothers Richard, Walter, and John, and brother-in-law Chuck Oliver. Danny is survived by his sister, Cindy Oliver of Weirton, nieces Carrie Shultz (Eddie) of Joffre, PA, and Casey Oliver of Weirton, and great nephew Caleb (Louie) Shultz. Danny will always be remembered as carefree and adventurous who loved his family, friends, OBX, Steelers football, Pirates baseball, and Penguins hockey. He was greatly loved by many, and will leave a huge void in the hearts of the people he leaves behind, but all can take solace that he is in a better place and with his beloved parents.
