She died at home following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born December 3, 1954 in Gassaway, she was the daughter of Norma L. Frame Hamrick of Widen and the late Russell C. Hamrick. Loretta and Jim were members of the First Christian Church of Salem, OH and attended Koinonia Sunday School Class. Loretta was always helping others, many times without their knowledge. She deeply loved her Lord, her family and friends. Her deep and abiding faith was an example to all who crossed her path. Loretta was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a caring daughter, sister and friend. She touched people’s lives wherever she went, and she will truly be missed. Survivors include her husband, James Michael (Jim) Morrison, whom she married November 23, 1973; one son, James C. (Tracey) Morrison of Leetonia; one daughter Nikki (Daniel) Reynolds of Leetonia; and four grandchildren, James Clayton Morrison, Julia Paige Reynolds, Luke Clayton Reynolds and Rachel Lauren Reynolds, all of Leetonia, OH. Also survived by two sisters, Lorraine (Robert) Brown and Ramona (Gary) Hosey, both of Sutton, and 5 brothers, Russell C. (Beaver) and Wilda Hamrick II of Birch River, Corley V (Corky) and Timberly Hamrick of Clay; Craig (Ruthie) Hamrick of Gassaway; Mark W. (Debra) Hamrick of Clay; and Travis B. (Barbara) Hamrick of Clay, as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Loretta was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ben and Ocie Hamrick of Sutton, and maternal grandparents, Corley and Pearl Frame of Widen. Loretta’s in-laws are John and Anna Morrison of Little Birch; and brothers-in-law Randy Morrison of South Carolina and David Morrison of Warren, OH. Burial followed at Franklin Square Cemetery. on June 26, 2007.¹

James was born on September 15, 1954 in Sutton, West Virginia to John and Anna Morrison. Jim was a member of First Christian Church in Salem where he attended the Koinonia Sunday School class. He also frequently attended Winona Friends Church with family. Jim sold professional tools and was loved by all his customers. He was also a machinist, and he retired as an inspector from CMCO. On November 23, 1973, he married the love of his life, Loretta Hamrick. They raised a son; James and a daughter; Nikki. Jim had a passion for the Western lifestyle; for the rusticity and minimalism that it brought to his life. He was a simple man who sought the finer things in heart and soul, rather than in material. Jim was a deeply devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was known for his loyal friendship, quick wit, twinkling eyes, kind and compassionate spirit, and willingness to help others. He had very clear beliefs of right and wrong and held fast to those beliefs all of his days. He will truly be missed. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta. He is survived by his mother and father, Anna and John Morrison of Little Birch, WV; his two children, James C. (Judy) Morrison of Hubbard, OH; Nikki J. (Daniel) Reynolds of Leetonia, OH; his brothers, David Morrison of Champion, OH and Randy (Theresa) Morrison of Tarpley, TX and five grandchildren, James Clayton Morrison, Julia Paige Reynolds, Luke Clayton Reynolds, Rachel Lauren Reynolds, and Sarah Jo Reynolds.
