She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include two sons, William "John" Whittaker and wife Cathy of Florida and Jeffrey C. Whittaker of Princeton; three daughters, Patricia Schurr of Texas, Diana Callison of Michigan, and Barbara Paul and husband Robert of Princeton; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A graveside committal service will be conducted at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, Sermon on the Mount Garden. on September 10, 2013.3

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II in Korea. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Billie Elmore Whittaker; three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Patricia) Schurr of Longview, Texas, Mrs. James (Diana) Callison of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Fleenor of Emporia, Va; two sons, Capt. William J. Whittaker, stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps at Quantico, Va., and Jeffrey C. Whittaker of Richmond, Va; one sister, Mrs. J. G. Thompson of Pearisburg, Va; two brothers, Don Whittaker of Princeton and Rufus Whittaker of Welch; and seven grandchildren. Garland retired in April of 2009 as the owner and operator of Swim Electric Company in Logan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Garland was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Logan. He was also a member and Master Mason of the Aracoma Masonic Lodge #99 in Logan and a 32nd Degree Mason. In addition to his parents, two brothers, Richard Swim and Harold Swim; and one sister, Shirley Bond preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of fifty six years, Billie Jo Luke Swim of Logan; two daughters, Kathie Cheek and husband Michael of Logan and Vickie Watson and husband Kevin of Ft. Shirley was a member of the Clown Club and worked in the kitchen during community Thanksgiving dinners. She was a self-employed seamstress, making many costumes, uniforms, prom and wedding dresses, and did the community’s mending and hemming. She also wrorked at Joe’s Market in West Mullens where high school students loved to go during their lunch hour. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lynn Childers; and two brothers, Harold and Richard Swim. Survivors include her two daughters, Royceanne Childers of Mullens and Toni Gayle Clay and her husband, Tim, of Saulsville; a son, Joseph Michael Bond of Mullens; a granddaughter, Rebekah Clay of Saulsville; two sisters, Lorena Walker and Tressie Shrader of Princeton; a brother, Garland Swim of Logan; and a very special friend, Peggy McClain of Mullens. on July 25, 2001.6

     Allen Wayne Robinette was buried at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 1917 West Main Street, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2 He Allen “Wayne” Robinette, 67, a life-long resident of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016, in Cleveland, TN at the residence of his daughter, Elizabeth Flores, who was serving as his caregiver and where he was living at this time. Born in Princeton July 3, 1948 he was the son of the late J.L. Robinette and Lorena Swim Robinette Walker. Wayne was a graduate of Princeton High School. He retired in 2012 as Chief Office Deputy of the Mercer County Assessor’s Office with 26 years of service. Prior to the Assessor’s office he was a draftsman doing blueprints for Joy Manufacturing Co. Wayne enjoyed all aspects of his career in the Courthouse and especially the political side of the business. He held many positions and received many honors during his career. Among them were; President of the Mercer County Democrat Club, named both the State of West Virginia and the Mercer County Democrat of the Year and serving on the State and County Democrat Executive Committees. Wayne was also elected by the voters of Mercer County as County Surveyor. For many years Wayne opened regular scheduled meetings of the Mercer County Commission with a prayer. Wayne always said he loved Jesus, Family, Democrats and Jeff Gordon. Wayne had a close companion, his cat Bandit, he adopted from the Animal Shelter. Wayne loved his autograph collection he worked at since childhood and his Jeff Gordon Nascar collection he worked on for several years. He also loved to read and be a daddy and a grandpa to his children and grandchildren that he took such great pride in. Wayne never met a stranger and was loved by his many friends. In addition to his parent’s two brothers, Steven and David Robinette and one sister, Patty Reed preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Louise Turpin and husband David of Perris, CA, Elizabeth Flores and husband Jonathan of Cleveland, TN, with whom he made his home and Teresa Robinette of Bristol, TN; twenty five grandchildren; one sister, Linda Donley and husband Dickie of Princeton and five brothers, Michael Robinette of Dublin, VA; Donald Robinette, Jackie Robinette and Barry Robinette all of Princeton and Scottie Robinette and wife Wendy of Athens.Burial will be in Resthaven Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his brother, Scottie Robinette, son-in-law, Jonathan Flores and grandsons, Jonathan Flores, Jr., Joseph Flores, Jacob Flores and friend, Verlin Moye.2 He married Phyllis Taylor.5 Allen Wayne Robinette was born on July 3, 1948 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2 He died on May 15, 2016 at Cleveland, Bradley Co., Tennessee, at age 67.2

     David Ray Robinette was buried at Lower Hodges Cemetery, Winfield, Putnam Co., West Virginia.2 He David Ray Robinette, 63, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went to Paradise on Saturday, March 14, 2015 following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born Dec. 22, 1951, David was the son of the late Julius Lewis Robinette and Lorena Ernestine Swimm. David trusted Jesus Christ as his Saviour on March 12, 2015. David is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Betty; his son, David Ray Robinette Jr. of Princeton; stepson, Gary D. Young and wife, Penny, of Winfield; stepdaughter, Rita Marion of Gallipolis, Ohio; sister, Linda Donely and husband, Dickie, of Princeton; brothers, Wayne Robinette of Princeton, Michael Robinette of Dublin, Va., Donald Robinette of Princeton, Scottie Robinette and wife, Wendy, of Athens, W.Va., Jackie Robinette of Princeton and Barry Robinette and wife, Gina, of Princeton; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. David grew up in the countryside of Lashmette and attended Matoka High School. David was a Marine Corps veteran of Platoon 344, Paris Island, S.C., graduating July 19, 1971. In his early years, David was employed by U.S. Steel Mining Operations in Gary, and later moved into automobile sales and worked for Mountain Motor Sales, Lester Raines, Robinette Preowned Autos and, most recently, Rick Miller Auto, Ripley. David loved NASCAR and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. David possessed a photographic memory when it came to his knowledge of automobiles. David will be most remembered as a dedicated, loving husband, a giver to all and a friend to so many who will forever cherish their memories of him. The graveside memorial service to honor the life of David will be held at Lower Hodges Cemetery, off Big Hurricane Creek Road, Winfield, with Dr. Jeffrey Johnson officiating.2 He was born on December 22, 1951 at West Virginia.2,3 He married Betty June Erwin on January 23, 1982 at Giles Co., Virginia.2,6,3 David Ray Robinette died on March 14, 2015 at Ohio at age 63.2

     Betty June Erwin Betty June Erwin Young Robinette, 79, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went to Paradise on Friday, September 16, 2016, after a long illness. Born on February 4, 1937, Betty was the daughter of the late Clell Leonard Erwin and Lorene Bertha Gibson. Betty was a Baptist and taught Sunday school in her younger years. Betty was married to the late Gary R. Young for 27 years and married to the late David Ray Robinette for 33 years and is survived by her son Gary D. Young and wife, Penny of Winfield; daughter, Rita M. Marion of Gallipolis, Ohio; stepson, David Ray Robinette, Jr. of Princeton WV; five grandchildren, Amanda R. Cintron (Greg) of Greenville, SC, Amber Beth Stevens (Blake) of Scott Depot, Gary D. Young, II of South Korea, Heidi Faith Clark (Jordan) of Winfield, and Nicki Marion of Long Beach, California; eight great-grandchildren, Lincoln Haynes, Ari Zane, Adah and Israel Clark, Asher, Jude, and Evelyn Stevens and Ezekiel Cintron. Betty grew up in the countryside of Putnam County, WV and attended Winfield High School. In her early years, Betty was a house wife and mother and later attended nursing school. Betty provided from her heart nursing care in several WV hospitals and cherished most of her nursing career caring for the elderly in nursing homes. Betty has spent the last 3 1/2 years as a patient at Abbyshire Place, Bidwell, Ohio, due to crippling strokes. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the entire Abbyshire staff and caregivers for the excellent care of Mom. Betty enjoyed her Sunday drives though the countryside, was a great cook, sang hymns with the family even after being paralyzed and was always overjoyed at the sight of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Donley; one son, Richard “Ricky” Donley; and one brother, Glen Donley. Donald was a retired journeyman baker having work at several places in the United States including Lloyds Bakery in Princeton. He was a member of both the Elks and Moose clubs in Princeton.
