She was born in Greenup County in Russell, Kentucky to the late William and Edith “Mickey” Lutzenhiser Garner. She was a member of the Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church in Berkeley Springs, WV. Irene owned and operated her own business as a Real-estate Agent but she would most notably want to be remembered for her work with The Hospice of the Panhandle of West Virginia and as a record keeper for Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, WV. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dale Clayton Hedrick, second husband, Charles E. Magoon, sister, Jean Garringer, and son, Dale C. Hedrick, Jr. She is survived by her son, Richard Harold Hedrick (Vickie), stepson, David Magoon (Mary), grandchildren, Destiny Jerome (Michael), Justin Magoon, Dale Hedrick, great-grandchildren, Gabby, Alex, and Tony Jerome.1 She was buried at Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, Morgan Co., West Virginia.2 Her married name was Hedrick.1 She married Dale Clayton Hedrick Sr., son of Thomas Clayton "Tom" Hedrick and Viola Virginia Elmore.1 Thelma Irene Garner was born on November 19, 1931 at Russell, Greenup Co., Kentucky.1,2 She died on December 14, 2020 at North Carolina at age 89.1

Magoon of Berkeley Springs; one niece; one nephew; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside rites will be conducted at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Bluefield-Princeton Road with Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. on September 1, 1978.4
