Ollie had been in declining health for the past seven years. Ollie was born in Lynchburg, VA to the late Ollie H. Bobbitt Sr. and Louise “Peggy” Bobbitt Viar. Ollie and his late brother, Jesse Lee Bobbitt were raised in Hughes Home in Danville, VA and attended Whitmell School. In addition to his brother Jesse, and his parents, Ollie was also predeceased by two sisters Deloris Viar and Sheila Viar and a brother C. W. Viar. He also was predeceased by his late wife Juanita Bobbitt and one daughter Louise Ruth Bobbitt. He is survived by his wife Judy Bobbitt, two stepsons Tommy (Debbie) Gibson and David (Pam) Gibson, two stepdaughters, Cheryl (David) Tuggle and Karen (Shawn) Fraser, ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Ollie is also survived by a son O H Bobbitt III (Deborah) and one grandson P A Bobbitt. Ollie served in the Army from 1960-1963. He went on to serve the Lynchburg Police Dept. for thirty-two years. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, Danville. Mr. Bobbitt was a retired machinist for the US Navy and also retired from the sign shop for the City of Lynchburg. He was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church Senior Sunday School Class. Mr. Bobbitt served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. In addition to his mother, Mr. Bobbitt is survived by two sons, Jesse Lee Columbus Bobbitt, Jr. of Bedford and Jason Bobbitt and his wife Leslie of Tennessee; one brother, Ollie "Buddy" Hayden, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Danville; his fiancée Juanita Stevens and her sons Jesse and Michael Stevens of Concord; and five grandchildren. Lillian was active in the Mountain View Baptist Church, as well as Thomas Road Baptist Church. She was an avid Bowler and is listed in the Lynchburg Bowlers Hall of Fame. Lillian is survived by three sons, Donald Wilson Bobbitt and wife Helen of Ruskin, FL, Darrell Stephen Bobbitt and wife Virginia of Lynchburg, and David Bryan Bobbitt, also of Lynchburg; one daughter, Starlett B. Evans and husband Wayne of Forest; seven grandchildren, Donald Wilson Bobbitt, Jr., Denise Renee Wooldridge, Dawn Bobbitt Chaos, Darrell Stephen Bobbitt, Jr., Ryan Hunter Bobbitt, Ashley Cordle, Kerry Wayne Evans, Krista Star Bryant, and David Nathan Bobbitt and twelve great-grandchildren, Andrew Wooldridge, Jordan Bobbitt, Lauren Chaos, Caleb Chaos, Kynadi Joyce, Colton Bobbitt, Parker Davidson, Kylie Bobbitt, Sierra Bryant, Sidney Bryant, Owen Evans, and Natalie Bobbitt. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. on April 7, 2013.²
