Ramsey, 68, of Charlotte, died on June 13, 2002, after complications from a recent stroke. He was born on May 22, 1934, in Rocky Mount, VA to Cecil and Edna Ramsey. He is survived by his brother, Donald; his three sons, Tim, Jeff, and Mike; six grandchildren; and numerous other loved friends and family. Mr Ramsey completed two tours of duty with the United States Air Force as a firefighter stationed at Myrtle Beach, SC and was honorably discharged on November 18, 1960. In December of 1960, he earned his degrees to become a master Mason and moved to Charlotte, NC, where he continued his career with the Charlotte Fire Department. He began at Fire Station 17 at Charlotte-Douglas Airport and retired from there at the rank of captain. There will be a graveside service on Sunday June 16 at 4:00 PM in Henry, VA at Town Creek Primitive Baptist Church. on June 15, 2002.⁸

     William Dennis Blankenship and Sandra Jean "Sandy" Richards were divorced.¹ William Dennis Blankenship William Dennis Blankenship age 79 of Boones Mill, VA passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He was born on November 29, 1943 a son of the late William M. and Frances Cooper Blankenship. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Scarlett and brother, J. P. Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship worked at Cooper Wood for many years, where he operated a forklift. He enjoyed working outdoors where he farmed and raised a garden. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanie Arrington Blankenship; children, Philip Blankenship (Terry), Ricky Dillon (Katie), Tammy Chitwood (Carter), Denise Lazenby (Josh), Andy Blankenship (Jenniffer); grandchildren, Autumn (Sal), Alex (Heather), Jared, Candace, Peyton, Aaron, Adam, Nathan, Kaylee, J.J., Anna, Annalynn, and Rylei Jo; great-grandchildren, Giuliana and Luca; sister, Betty Guilliams; brothers, Wayne Blankenship (Betty), and Bobby Blankenship.
