She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, word search and reading her Bible. She taught herself how to knit at the age of 82 and presented knitted scarfs for all the girls at Christmas! But then decided that crocheting was better and laid her needles down. Our mother was a dedicated and loving spouse to our father. While he was hospitalized with a head injury, she visited him most every day, whether he was at the Indianapolis VA or Danville VA. It was during that time that she crocheted large pieces; one being 5-foot in diameter round tablecloth. Dorothy was a member of Second Church of Christ and she enjoyed attending services and signing praises to her Lord. When she was able, she helped serve and prepare food for funeral dinners and prepared communion. She enjoyed serving other people.
