She worked at Healthwin Specialized Care in South Bend as Head Nurse, where she frequently dressed up as the Healthwin ghost, “Lucy,” to entertain the residents. She also previously worked as the Assistant Director of Nurses on the Alzheimer’s Care unit at Brandonwoods Retirement Community in Lawrence, Kansas. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, was an avid reader, and faithfully watched Gunsmoke and Bonanza on television. She had a smile that would brighten any room and made the most hilarious faces to get a laugh out of someone. She had a special compassion for people with whom she came in contact, and was truly an angel on Earth. Elaine is survived by her daughters, Dana (Jason) Kuhn of Elkhart, Rebecca Campbell of Granger and Marcia (David) Worrell of Pineland, TX; grandchildren, Cane Kuhn, Alicia Kuhn, Braelynn Barrier, Anthony Buck, Nicholas Horak, Brittany Perkins, Melvin Perkins, Ashley Perkins, Kevin Perkins, David Worrell and Meranda Worrell; and great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Inman, Caleb Inman, Camryn Perkins and Leah Redman.
