Ricky lived life to the fullest, spending time with his family and friends going to VA Tech football games, Atlanta Braves games and his one NY Giants game. He worked at Roanoke County Sheriff's Office from 1977 to August 2000 when he retired. Later working at Oakey's North Chapel as a houseman and retiring as a Cremationist. Ricky was survived by his wife, Jane Etter, children, Lendsay Sneed and husband Roby, Patrick (Big P) M. Etter, Patrick (Lil P) D. Etter, Kristi Mattern; grandchildren, Ashton M. Etter, Alana M. Etter, Michael, Andrew and Jaxson Witcher; a brother, Michael Etter, special cousin, Ronald Locks, numerous friends and other relatives.³ He was born on June 20, 1948 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,3,4 He married Robin Lee Manning, daughter of Irvin Lee Manning and Betty Ann Yates, on March 25, 1972 at Eden, Rockingham Co., North Carolina.¹ Ricky Lee Etter and Robin Lee Manning were divorced on September 25, 1984 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.² Ricky Lee Etter died on November 10, 2022 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 74.³
