She was a member of the Fort Bend County Farm Bureau, the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance, and in earlier years, the Fort Bend County Taxpayers Association. Mary E. served for 2 years on the Rosenberg City Council and was involved in the Republican Party, serving as an election judge in her precinct. She was presented with the James C. Adolphus Award by the Fort Bend Republican Party, saluting her as an activist for a lifetime of party service. She was a lifelong member of the Christian Church, specifically the Central Christian Church of Rosenberg.
