Wheeler, Lynchburg, Va., officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. He died at 2 a.m. Monday in Lynchburg, while visiting a sister, Mrs. Alfred (Irene) Lambert. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack. Born Jan. 17, 1924 at Glen White, he was the son of Mrs. Okie Tosh Polk, Crab Orchard, and the late Anthony Campbell Polk. A member of the Glen View Independent Baptist Church, he was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. In addition to his mother and sister, he is survived by two other sisters, Mrs. Calvin (Hazel) Bolen, Crab Orchard, and Mrs. Darrell (Shirley) Richardson, Aiken, S.C. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Douglas Polk, Charles Cooper, Henry O'Shimsky, John Radford, Glen Thompson and Claude Akers. on August 4, 1971.6

Richardson.2,5,3 Shirley Polk was born on September 6, 1935 at Lester, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.3,6 She died on August 5, 2019 at Aiken, Aiken Co., South Carolina, at age 83.3 She Aiken - Shirley Polk Richardson, 83, beloved wife of Darrell L. Richardson, died Monday, August 5, 2019 at her residence. A native of Lester, WV, Shirley was a daughter of the late Anthony Campbell and Okie Dove Tosh Polk. She lived in Aiken since 1964 and was a member of South Aiken Baptist Church. She had a career with the U. S. Government working with the Draft Board, Social Security Administration and the Farmers Home Administration. She was also a homemaker. Survivors, in addition to her husband Darrell, include two daughters, Terri McClearen Dickson (Jeffrey), Aiken, Kimberly Richardson Burnett (Dr. Samuel T.), Abbeville, SC; grandchildren, Kelli McClearen Zefting (Dana), Robbie McClearen (Liz), John Thomas Burnett (Mary Stewart), Rachel Burnett McCullough (Steve), Benjamin Joseph Burnett; step granddaughters, Nicole Elise Dickson, Carissa Ann Dickson; great grandchildren, Wyatt McClearen, Audrey McClearen, Zoey Kate Zefting, Madison Drew Zefting, Braelyn Marie Dickson, Elizabeth Stewart Burnett, Thomas Reid Burnett; sister, Irene Lambert, Lynchburg, VA; special family friend, Leola Plameras. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers, Rudolph Polk, Russell Polk; sister, Hazel Bolen, great-granddaughter, Anna Claire Burnett and niece, Julia Ann Bolen. The family will receive friends Friday evening, August 9th from 6 until 8 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday morning, August 10th at 11 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. on August 7, 2019.3
