     Betty Mae Shockey was buried at Ashland Cemetery, 1958 Belmont Street, Ashland, Boyd Co., Kentucky.² She was born on October 23, 1935 at McRoberts, Letcher Co., Kentucky.^1,2 As of circa 1954,her married name was Lovin.² She married Dr. William "Bill" "Billy" Lovin, son of William Posie "Will" Lovin and Liddie Mae Elmore, circa 1954.^4,2,3 Betty Mae Shockey died on January 1, 2020 at Ashland, Boyd Co., Kentucky, at age 84.² She Betty Mae Shockey Lovin, 84, of Ashland, Ky., gained her wings on January 1, 2020. She was born in McRoberts, Ky., on October 23, 1935, to the late Oliver Wendell and Lake Erie Blair Shockey. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Dr. William Lovin; brothers William Raymond Shockey and Oliver Wendell Shockey, Jr; sisters Mattie Louise Shockey Points and Doris Jean Shockey Elliott; and her grandson Adam Lovin. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and homemaker. She brought love and joy to every life she touched. She is survived by her three children, William Scott Lovin, Stacy Leigh Lovin Stevens, and Jeffrey Stuart Lovin; grandchildren, Michael Lovin, Kayla Stevens (Mason Eastham), Douglas Kevin Stevens II (Drew Acree) Elijah and Caleb Lovin; great-grandchildren Ronin and Axel Lovin; and her sister Margaret Ann (John Mason) Sturgill. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. The family appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, at 11 a.m. at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel and will be officiated by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. on January 3, 2020.²
