They made their home in Bovill and Troy, where she worked as the high school secretary, and later as secretary for the superintendent of the Whitepine School District. Willis died in December 1973. On March 25, 1978, she married Bud McIntyre in Coeur d'Alene. They lived in Spokane, and she returned to Moscow and Pullman six years ago. Leota was a longtime member of the Troy Lutheran Church, a "Birthday Club" in Troy, Royal Neighbors and the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, making quilts for her family, collecting silhouette pictures and Hummel figurines, and traveling - especially to see family in Kentucky and Georgia and going to Disneyland. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cleaning her house. Leota is survived by her husband, Bud in Spokane; a daughter, Janice Bieren of Moscow; and her sister, Jessie Linderman of Bovill. She also leaves her grandchildren, Lisa Geidl of Moscow, Chad Bieren of Bellevue, Wash., Jeff Calene of Las Vegas, Josh Calene of Beaverton, Ore., and Jacob Calene of Moscow; as well as 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her first husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Calene, in June 1996. on April 30, 2016.5

She worked as a "flunkie" in the Forest Service camps prior to her marriage to Ruthford L. Linderman on Jan. 6, 1956. They lived, loved and worked in Bovill, where she was a homemaker and raised her sons. She enjoyed reading, crochet, cooking and gardening. The family spent many summers "camping" while Ruthford worked logging. He preceded her in death in 2013. Surviving are her son, Duane, daughter-in-law Mary Ann of Bovill, and a niece, Janice Bieren, of Moscow. She also has many other nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. In addition to her husband, Jessie also was preceded in death by her son, Paul, in 2015; sister Leota Calene McIntyre; and nephew Randy Calene. A private graveside service was held at the Bovill Cemetery. on July 2, 2017.1

Ruthford Lenard Linderman was born on April 30, 1921 at Troy, Latah Co., Idaho.2,3,5 He married Jessie Mae Smith, daughter of Colonel William Smith and Dorothy Etta Boeck, on January 6, 1956 at Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai Co., Idaho.1,2,4,5 Ruthford Lenard Linderman died on February 28, 2013 at Bovill, Latah Co., Idaho, at age 91.2,5 He Ruthford L. Linderman, of Bovill, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at his home. He was 91. The youngest of 12, Ruthford was born April 30, 1921, in Troy, to John and Carrie Linderman. He grew up on a farm near Nora Creek. After the eighth grade, Ruthford began his career as a logger. When America entered into World War II, Ruthford, along with several others from Potlatch Corp., heard the call and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the 800th Engineering Company as a bulldozer operator. After the war, Ruthford returned to Bovill and, on Jan. 6, 1956, Ruthford married his wife of 57 years, Jessie May Smith in Coeur d'Alene. Ruthford continued logging until he retired in 1986. Ruthford, a self-taught accordion player, enjoyed gardening (especially tomatoes), fishing and hunting. He could really cut a rug and could often be caught tinkering with old vehicles. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Bovill Volunteer Fire Department, a great storyteller and will be remembered by all who knew him for his quick wit and sense of humor. Ruthford was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings. He is survived by his wife, Jessie, at their Bovill home his sons, Duane (Mary Ann) of Bovill, and Paul Linderman of Boise and numerous nieces and nephews. on March 5, 2013.5

Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey of Pocatello, Idaho, and Joshua and Jacob, both of Moscow; his mother and stepfather, Leota Calene McIntyre and Verald McIntyre of Spokane; one sister, Janice Bieren of Moscow; two stepbrothers of Spokane; and his special friend, Maxine Pippin of Sterling. on June 15, 1996.3
