He joined the Clarion IOOF Lodge in 1902 and was a member of the Clarion Encampment. For many years he was custodian of the IOOF Lodge and a member of the Hall Association. Surviving are five sons, Floyd S. and Geary of Clarion, Charles E. of Brockport, Paul W. of Erie, Francis C. of San Mateo, Calif; three daughters and a foster daughter, Mildred Bigley at home, Mrs. C. S. (Helen) Porter of Canton, Ohio, Mrs. James (Catherine) Eberline of Clarion R D, and Mrs. J. R. McCaskill of Hartsville, S.C. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 28 grandchildren. In addition to his wife, a granddaughter, a grandson, five sisters and eight brothers are deceased. Friends are being received at the Goble Funeral home in Clarion from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery. Members of the IOOF Lodge will hold memorial services in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday. on December 2, 1961.⁵
