Born February 21, 1950, in Brookville, he was the son of the late Harold "Bing" Clinger and Clara L. Hartle Clinger of Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville. Mr. Clinger was a graduate of the CL High School. He was married on April 30, 1969 to the former Deborah M. McCleary, who survives. Mr. Clinger worked as a bodyman for Gross Motors in Clarion. He was a member of the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Corsica. Mr. Clinger enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren, family, friends, and pets, especially his dogs, Princess and Harley and kitten, Dink. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two children, Amy Clinger of Clarion and Jason Clinger of Corsica; and two grandchildren, Brittany and Gideon. Also surviving are five sisters, Eileen Jodon and husband, William, of Erie; Marjorie McCleary of Strutters, OH; Helen Frampton and husband, Arthur, of Sligo; Katie Frampton of Brookville; and Janie Burkett and husband, Gary, of Brookville; two brothers, Michael Clinger and wife, Linda, of Clarion; and Mark Clinger and wife, Rhonda, of Sligo; in-laws, Fred and Edna McCleary of Miola; two brothers-in-law, Fred McCleary and wife, Diane, of Etters; and John McCleary and wife, Terry, of Marian, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold "Spike" Clinger and Arthur "Yogie" Clinger; one sister, Judith Davis; infant son; brother-in-law, Jim Frampton; and sister-in-law, Diane Wright. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010, in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, in the funeral home with Jim Witherington, AseraCare Hospice Chaplain, and Father William M. Laska, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville, officiating.
