Crist, Gettysburg, Adams county coroner, said that death was due to chronic kidney and heart trouble and had occurred during the night. The deceased was a native of Adams county, a son of the late William A. and Adelia (Thomas) Criswell. He had lived in Gettysburg most of his life. During World War I he served for a year in the Army. Surviving are a nephew, George E. Burgner, Gettysburg, and a number of cousins. The funeral will be held on Saturday with services at 10 a.m. as the Bender funeral home, Gettysburg. The Rev. Dr. R. R. Gresh, pastor of St. James Lutheran church, Gettysburg, will officiate. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery, Gettysburg. on May 1, 1947.5

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, member auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In 1966 she was chosen as the "Eagles" mother of the year. These children survive: Elwood F. Cullison of Milwaulee; Mrs. Mary Helen Swope of Gettysburg; William J. Cullison of Orrtanna; James R. Cullison of Gettysburg; Joseph S. Cullison of Norristown; Anna L. Clingan of McSherrystown; and Susan M. Thompson of Gettysburg; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services held with the Bender Funeral Home. Barnes Cullison, whom he married Dec. 11, 1981; two daughters, Linda Oller of Orrtanna, Pa., and Mary Naugle of Gettysburg; three sons, William J. Cullison Jr. of Fayetteville, Pa., Jeff Cullison of Orrtanna, and Wayne Cullison of Gettysburg; one stepdaughter, Kathy Bingaman of Greencastle, Pa; three sisters, Sue Thompson and Helen Swope, both of Gettysburg, and Ann Clingan of McSherrystown, Pa; one brother, James Cullison of Gettysburg; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, George Cullison; and three brothers, Quay Cullison, Elwood Cullison and Joe Cullison. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Alan R. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle. on September 4, 2000.4

     Ralph V. Thompson Ralph V. "Frosty" Thompson, of Biglerville, departed this life on the morning of June 3, 2013, in Gettysburg. Born August 6, 1935, in Adams County, he was the son of the late Carl and Mildred (Gripenburg) Thompson. He was the husband of the late Susan M. (Cullison) Thompson who died February 14, 2005. Mr. Thompson was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor for Dolly Madison Industries before he went out on his own to be a mechanic for over 25 years, after his retirement he worked at Jane's Market in Biglerville. Frosty was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Gettysburg and the Biglerville American Legion. He loved animals and enjoyed cookouts in the summer time. He is survived by his two daughters, Lori A. Thompson, of Ocean City, MD, Jill M. Kinser-Barnhart, of Orrtanna; five grandchildren, Ashley Kinser, Taylor Kinser, Brittney Thompson, Erin Barnhart, Gabriella Thompson; brother, Clair Thompson, of Gettysburg; sister, Virginia Baker, of Georgetown, DE; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., June 7, 2013, Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg, with Fr. Bernardo Pistone Celebrant. Burial with full military honors being presented by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in St. Francis Cemetery.3 He was buried at Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery, Gettysburg, Adams Co., Pennsylvania.2,3 He married Susan Marie Cullison, daughter of Alvin Ellsworth Cullison and Mary Gertrude Madden/Stewart.1,3 Ralph V. Marian was born and has lived in West Springfield all her life. She was the daughter of Whiting and Katherine (Clark) Briggs. She was a 1943 graduate of the West Springfield High School and worked at American Telephone and Neisner's Department Store in Springfield before retiring as the Laundry Supervisor with the Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home. She was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church where she was a Lector, Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister. Her husband Elwood Cullison died in 2000 and her sons Mark died in 1996 and Gerald died in 2010. She leaves a daughter Jo Anne Manley and her husband James; her sons Kevin and David and his wife Ann Marie; her adopted daughter Dona Lacas and her family; her daughter-in-law Deborah Cullison; a brother Roger Briggs and his wife Joan; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marian's funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in Paucatuck Cemetery. on November 22, 2013.3

Joe will be especially missed for his sense of humor and his love of his family and his pets. Surviving are his wife and best friend, Susan Davis; his sister, Rita Cullison of Audubon, PA; 3 children, Christina Funkhouser and husband Troy of Hanover, Joseph T. and companion Patty Myers of East Berlin, and Edward and wife Melissa of Baltimore, MD. Joe also left behind 3 grandchildren: granddaughters, Kylie and Teagan Funkhouser, grandson, Dayne Cullison, and grandson on the way, Andrew Cullison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Patrick Church, 152 East Pomfret Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 11 a.m., with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Refreshments will be served at Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013 immediately following the Mass. Several members of their congregation expressed their fondness of Joe as he has previously assisted in building an addition to their church. Interment will be private. on August 23, 2018.2
