Donald Roger Chatham was buried at Northern California Veterans Cemetery, 11800 Gas Point Road, Igo, Shasta Co., California.6,4 He was born on April 14, 1936 at Los Angeles Co., California.1 He married Marjorie Jean Taylor on July 11, 1958 at Compton, Los Angeles Co., California.2,3 Donald Roger Chatham died on September 7, 2018 at Redding, Shasta Co., California, at age 82.6 He Donald Chatham passed away on September 7th to join his lovely wife Marjorie Jean Chatham who passed away in 2017. The 2 were inseparable in life, so it's only fitting they are together again. There will be a ceremony at 11AM on Friday October 19th at their final resting at the Northern CA Veteran's Cemetery in Igo. Don is survived by daughter Michele Cronic and her husband Robert, son Scott Chatham and his wife Christine, sister Diane Barnes, grandkids – Jordan Briley and his wife Tiffany, Jessica and her husband Jeremy, Cassidy and her husband Ethan, Jonathon, and Grace plus great grandchildren Jacob, Mackenzie, Ayla, and Delanie. He will join his son Donald James who passed away in 2015. Don was born in 1936 and lived his early years in Southern California. He eventually met and married Marjorie Jean. After 2 years in the army he landed a job as a driver for Greyhound, and ended up spending over 30 years there, he even got his name on a bus! Don loved driving that bus all over and getting a chance to see the country. It was that interest that led him to want to eventually led him to getting a Greyhound run based out of Redding, CA in the mid 70's. Somehow Don and Marge managed raising teenagers, and then eventually getting the opportunity to be grandparents. Don loved his grandchildren and often was found joking around with them. He had a fun loving personality with them, and nearly everyone he met. After retiring, Don and Marge decided to go live in Florence, OR. However, being far away from their kids and grandkids, became too much and they moved back to Redding. After some additional travelling which included seeing his grandkids graduate from the army, they finally decided to stay settled down and be baby-sitters whenever needed. Don loved being with his bride, and was always so proud of their 59 years of marriage together! Don will be missed by his family and many others – like his fellow Greyhound retirees, those at the Vistas Assisted Care in Redding where he spent the last 2 years joking around with the caring staff and residents (and even playing Santa Claus last Christmas), his friend Trish who came by every week, and most others he came into contact with. His quick wit, will be missed for those who spent time around him. We love you dad! On October 18, 2018.6
