Maradene had a life membership in the P.T.A. and enjoyed reading, gardening, camping and especially bus trips to Reno and "the ponies". She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed. Maradene is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Carl & Margie, John & Char, Gib & DeeDee and Mark & Roz; foster daughter, Barbara Avelar and her husband, Eddie; her son from a previous marriage, Norman Kleckner Jr; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma & George Cooper of Grass Valley; grandchildren; Michele, Daniel, Darren, Gilbert, Debbie, Michael, Jennifer, Jamie and Jeremy; step-grandchildren; Kent Knopp-Schwyn and Kirk Schwyn; great-grandchildren; Kyra, Sophia, Gilbert, Maradene and Michael Jr; step-great-grandchildren; Collin Knopp-Schwyn, Iain Knopp-Schwyn and Molly Kraus; many nieces, nephews, loving extended family and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, George "Gil" Britto and her sister, Uveda Fernandes. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Maradene's life 1 PM on Sunday, January 13, 2002 at Grissom's Chapel &Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. She will be laid to rest with her husband in a private burial at San Joaquin National Cemetery. on January 6, 2002.⁵

His personality, charm and wit made others want to know him. Soon after graduating from Crestmore High in 1967, he married his life long love, Barbara in 1968. He worked his way through the automotive repair industry with her by his side. In 1985 he achieved his goal and opened his own business in Mtn. View, CA. Now almost 22 years strong, his dream will continue to live on. His favorite past times were playing golf and Salmon fishing with his buddies who's friendship's he cherished.Although his spirit has risen. Dale still survives here on Earth through his wife Barbara, his children Michael, Edward and Donald; his grandchildren Amber, Janessa, Ashley, Jacob, Cody, Brett and Angealia; his loving parents Bert and Jewel and the many people whose lives he touched.
