Sevelle graduated high school there in 1939 and married David Vance in San Antonio in 1943 during World War II. She was a homemaker most of their married life, raising their only son in Grand Prairie, Texas. They moved back to Gilmer after retirement in 1978. She was proceed in death by all of her seven siblings. Survivors include Donn Vance and wife Gaynelle of Lufkin, Texas; granddaughter Andrea Im and husband Albert of Austin, Texas; and grandson Brian Vance of Lufkin. on April 11, 2019.¹

     Edith Geraldine Shirey Edith G. Kifer, 91 of Egypt died on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008 at Clearfield Hospital. She was born on January 30, 1917 in Croft, a daughter of the late Elzie and Clarabelle (Holt) Shirey. Mrs. Kifer retired from the Clearfield Hospital after 27 years of employment. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield. She is survived by seven children, Frances Woodling and her husband Duane of Egypt, Rose Merritts of Pleasant Valley, James Cole, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Marion, Douglas Cole and his wife Kimberly of Bradford Township, William Cole and his fiancé Angelika of Clearfield, Linda McGonigal and her husband Ralph of Karthaus, Larry Cole and his wife Cindy of Frenchville, 54 Grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Cole, on December 17, 1971, her second husband, Ken Kifer, a daughter, Dessie Lee, a son Bob Cole, a granddaughter, a great-great granddaughter, two sisters, Genevieve Cole and Nellie Gillingham and two brothers Blair Shirey and Glenn Shirey. Funeral services will be held at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Duane A. White officiating. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Paul Lee, of Mahaffey; and a granddaughter, Cassie Lee, who resided with Mr. and Mrs. Lee. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Waldron Funeral Home, Mahaffey, with the Rev. Albert Cooper officiating. Interment will be at Congress Hill Cemetery, LeContes Mills. on December 15, 2005.⁴

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 at 7 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Timothy Richmond officiating.      Robert Hyland "Bob" Cole was buried at Congress Hill Cemetery, Lecontes Mills, Clearfield Co., Pennsylvania.^3,4,5 He married Anna Mary Biddle.⁵ Robert Hyland "Bob" Cole was born on October 28, 1936 at Surveyor, Clearfield Co., Pennsylvania.^3,4,5 He died on November 18, 1960 at Girard, Clearfield Co., Pennsylvania, at age 24; Died in a hunting accident.³ He A 24-year-old father of four children was killed yesterday when his younger brother shot at what he thought was a turkey in the thick woods about one mile north of LeContes Mills. It was Clearfield County's first hunting fatality of the season. The victim, Robert H. Cole of Shawville, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Clearfield hospital. His brother, James B. Cole Jr., 17, of Surveyor was placed under sedation in the hospital's emergency room for shock. State Trooper Edward Jezewski of the Clearfield substation said last night that he believed that the shooting was accidental but this morning called in game protector Ted C. Carlson to aid in the routine investigation. Police reconstructed the tragic shooting this way: The two brothers and an unidentified brother-in-law from Holidaysburg were hunting turkey in a thickly wooded area yesterday afternoon. The three had split up with the victim about 50 yards and front of the younger Cole. The skies were getting dark and the air was hazy. About 2:45 p.m. James saw a black object in the brush, thought it was a turkey, and fired a shot from his .222 caliber rifle. When he arrived at the spot where his bullet was aimed he found his brother lying dead. The bullet had entered below the left ear and had come out below the right ear. James then fired three shots in the air to summon help from his brother-in-law. State police were contacted as well as an ambulance. County Coroner Robert R. Heath said death was caused by internal hemorrhaging. Police said the father of the victim, James Cole Sr., of Surveyor was admitted to the hospital last night suffering from shock after he learned of the tragedy. Robert H. Cole was born Oct. 23, 1936 a son of James B. and Edith Shirey Cole. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Tyrone. For the past year Mr. Cole had been employed by the Penoyer Coal Company. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Anna Mary Biddle Cole, and four children, Robert H. Jr., Karla Louise, Marcia Ann and Pamela Jo, all at home. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Harold Mitchell, Mrs. Robert Livergood, James, Douglas, William, Linda, and Larry, all of Clearfield R. D. 2; and Mrs. Donald Merritts of Holidaysburg. Funeral services will be from the Leavy Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Ernest J. Bauman officiating. Burial will be made in the Congress Hill Cemetery. on November 19, 1960.⁵

She was born Feb. 27, 1934 in Tyrone, a daughter of the late Harry and Edith (Walker) Biddle. She is survived by two sons and three daughters: Robert H. Cole, Jr. of Tyrone, Wayne E. Patton of Oak Harbor, Washington; Karla Galbraith and Marsha Noel of Tyrone and Pamela Eaken of Port Matilda. A step-daughter Mary Patton of Pittsburgh. Ten grandchildren: Jennifer, Alexis, Lea, Estelle, Joshua, Kira, Krista, Monica, Brianna and Montana. Three step-grandchildren: David, Timothy and Richard. Two great-grandchildren: Courtney and Robbie. A brother Harry Biddle of Altoona and sisters Jeannette Varner of Tyrone and Evelyn Meek in Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by husbands Robert M. Cole, Sr., Lawrence E. "Eddie" Patton, and Willard O. Weaver, brothers Robert Biddle and Ellwood Biddle and sisters Lillian Conrad and Becky Moore. She was a member of the Tyrone Alliance Church and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Interment will be at Bald Eagle Cemetery. on March 19, 2005.³
