She was born March 17, 1920 in Arcadia to Robert & Catherine (Reynolds) Dinkins. On June 23, 1938 she married William P. Orr and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1985. Jo had worked at Delco. She attended Trinity Wesleyan Church and enjoyed quilting, baking, square dancing and working puzzles. She was a seamstress and loved tending to her flowers and gardening. She loved her dog Lucy. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Jones, Elwood; four grandchildren, Dawn Cox, Terry Miller, Scott Jones and Brian Jones; 13 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. Jo was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosie Yeary; two sons-in-law, Lefty Yeary and Sam Jones; a granddaughter, Jenni (Jones) Lamont; and a granddaughter-in-law, Brenda Jones. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and was a former Little League coach in Elwood. Surviving with her husband are her mother, a resident of Tipton; two daughters, Teresa Diane Sharp and Dawn Renea Pickering of Tipton; a sister, Barbara Ann Jones of Elwood; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, stepfather and grandmother, Zelma Catherine Addison. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton by the Rev. Charles Fields. Burial will be in Tipton's Fairview Cemetery. on April 16, 2001.⁷

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa and husband, Lenny Miller of Tipton arid Dawn Pickering of Tipton; one granddaughter, Tracy and husband, John Flanagan of Arcadia; grandsons, James and wife, Melissa Barnes of Amherst, N.Y., Jordon Pickering and Taylor Pickering of Tipton, Jason and wife, Heather Miller of Elwood; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Glen and wife, Betty Yeary of Concord, N.C., J.B. Yeary of Chesterfield and Floyd Yeary of Tipton; two sisters, Ruby and husband, Pate Cook of Springfield, III. and Betty and husband, Jerry DeWitt of Tipton; mother-in-law, Josephine Orr of Tipton; and many Manhattan friends. He was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert Yeary and Raymond Yeary; and sisters, Easter Cook and Peg Woodard. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at Leatherman-Morris-Boyer Funeral Home in Tipton, with Pastor Kevin Carr officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. on August 11, 2004.⁶

She was employed at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Survivors include her parents; her husband; two sons, Drake Mengelt and Stephen Lamont Jr., of Brewster; paternal grandmother, Sarah Jones of Elwood; maternal grandmother, Josephine Orr of Tipton; and two brothers, Scott Jones and Brian Jones of Elwood. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Melvin L. Jones and maternal grandfather, William P. Orr. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Carmel, with Father Richard Doerr officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Elwood. on December 15, 2003.⁴
