Born June 21, 1953, at Scarbro, she was the daughter of the late Mary E. Lopez. Her husband, Delmas Gene West, preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2015. Born June 7, 1933, at Bent Mountain, Ennis was the daughter of the late Jessie and Naomi Caldwell White. Of the christian faith, she was a homemaker, gardener, seamstress and baker. She found her place in the world on her beloved country farm in rural Mercer county, alongside her husband, Robert. While she worked hard at many tasks throughout her life, her most favorite job came in the summers, she and Robert raised their gardens and sold the produce they harvested at the Mercer county Tailgate Farmer's Market. Through all the time Ennis spent tending the earth, raising livestock or baking a batch of rolls for market, her best-loved titles were that of wife, mom and "nanny". In addition to her parents, Ennis was preceded in death by her always-devoted husband of 61 years, Robert; brothers James and Edward White; and an infant sister, Joyce Fay. Survivors left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Connie Gadd Toler and husband, Doug, of Athens; Deborah Gadd Mitchem and husband, Danny, of Elgood; and Nancy Gadd Byrd, of Austin, Texas; two granddaughters, Tammie Toler of Athens; and Cristi Williams, of Elgood; great-grandson, Matthew Gadd Williams, of Elgood; great-granddaughter, Abigail Elane Williams-Fry, of Elgood; brother, Clendal White and his wife, Patty; and a very special friend, Beverly McManaway. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 14, 2013 from the Burns Wornal chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Jim Stanley officiating. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Norma Alvatine Martin White and by a brother Edward White. He is survived by one daughter Judy Hanna and husband Kenneth of Princeton. One son, Ronald J. White and Michaella and her daughter Summer. Three grandchildren, Heather Wilson and husband Mike and their daughter Kayla of Princeton. Angela Long and husband Jamie and their children Cody, Teresa, Sadie and Mayleigh of Cherokee, North Carolina and Bradley Hanna and wife Jennifer and their children Alexia, Emily, Ryan and Hailey of Staunton, Virginia. Also surviving, are one brother, Clendal White and his wife Patty of Bent Mountain, Lerona, West Virginia and one sister, Ennis Gadd of Pettrey, West Virginia. A host of Nieces and Nephews and his extended family from the Country View Assisted Living Facility in Peterstown, West Virginia also survive. We will celebrate the life of James "Bunny" White on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Wildwood of the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. on January 31, 2013.3

Of the Christian faith, Robert was most at peace when he was surrounded by nature and the peaceful quiet of the farm he and his wife, Ennis, built together. In addition to gardening and tending to the many chores of life in the country, one of his favorite pastimes was hunting, where he found contentment amid the woods and wildlife. During his life, he worked many jobs, but his most treasured titles were of husband, daddy and granddaddy. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, including his twin brother, Russell Bee Gadd, of Pipestem. Survivors left to cherish his memory include Robert's always devoted wife of 61 years, Ennis; three daughters, Connie Gadd Toler and her husband, Doug, of Athens; Deborah Gadd Mitchem and her husband, Danny, of Elgood; and Nancy Gadd Byrd, of Austin, Texas; two granddaughters, Tammie Toler, of Athens; and Cristi Fry and husband, Jerry, of Elgood; one very special great-grandson, Matthew Gadd Williams, of Elgood; two brothers, four sisters and a host of nieces and nephews spanning several generations.
