A devoted wife and mother she worked for many years throughout south central Kansas as a nurse's aide and medical aide, while also spending time with The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks in Pratt. She is survived by two daughters, Katrina Masters and Marie Blackwell of Pratt; two sons, Alfie Guthrie of Wichita, and Whitney Slater of Paulsbo, Wash; a brother, Charles Smith, Pratt; a sister, Lillian Snyder of Missouri; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Timothy Slater; five brothers, Robert Miller, Aurther "Bud" Miller, David Miller, Howard Miller and Raymond Miller; and four sisters, Viola Blankenship, Betty Frances Miller, Patricia Schroll and Veronica Day. Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery in Preston. on June 5, 2012.¹

     Warren David Slater Warren David Slater was born July 11, 1942 in Harper, Kansas to William Henry and Ethel Marie Kelly Slater. He passed away December 31, 2017 in Ozark, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Denny Slater and Harvey Slater, sisters; Melva Vinson and Karen Livingston, son; Timothy Shane Slater and step-son; Robert Jason Ford. He is survived by his wife; Carol Jean Stephens Slater of Ozark, Arkansas, son; Whitney Lee and wife, Janice of Poulsba, Washington, daughters; Katrina Gwenn Masters and husband, Lyndal of Pratt, Kansas; Clara Marie Blackwell and husband, Glenn of Ponka City, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Gloria Ann Ford of Ozark, Arkansas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Mt. Top Assembly of God Church at Mt. Top, Arkansas with Reverend George Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.¹ He was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Batson, Johnson Co., Arkansas.¹ He was born on July 11, 1942 at Harper, Harper Co., Kansas.¹ He married Kathryn Joan Smith, daughter of Vinson Newton Smith and Barbara Ellen Swiger, on July 20, 1962 at Alva, Woods Co., Oklahoma.² Warren David Slater died on December 31, 2017 at Ozark, Franklin Co., Arkansas, at age 75.¹
