The Rev. Lynn Evans will officiate. His remains will be placed in the Columbarium at the Methodist Church. He was born Dec. 4, 1920 in Shickley, Neb., to John Henry and Lillie Blanche (Ekwall) Watmore. He died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. He was banker with Dove Creek State Bank, First National Bank in Cortez and Mesa Verde Savings and Loan. He has lived in Cortez since 1980 and retired in 1985. He was a member of the Cortez Rotary Club, First United Methodist Church and the Cortez Elks Lodge. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Shirley Watmore, of Cortez; son, Greg Watmore and wife, Tracey; granddaughters, Kristin Isabelle and Lauren Elizabeth Watmore all of Thousand Oaks, Calif; brother ValDean Watmore of Las Vegas, Nev; sister-in-law, Rubye Smith of Denver, Colo; as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his three brothers, Dean, Donald and Wilbur. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Cortez First United Methodist Church at 515 N. Park Street, Cortez, Co. 81321. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Love Fund of the church. Services are under the direction of the Ertel Funeral Home. on February 20, 2005.1
