Christopher Brian "Chris" Taylor Christopher Brian Taylor, Aug 4, 1976 - May 17, 2025. Christopher Brian Taylor, 48, of Salem passed away May 17th, 2025, after a long, brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kathy; his parents Carol and Mike Turk and Kendall and Deborah Taylor; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Chill Crew friends. Greeting him in Heaven will be his brother, grandparents, aunt and cousin. Born and raised in Salem, Chris graduated from Salem High School in 1995 and loved cooking for his Chill Crew when they all got together to watch 49ers or Notre Dame football, Atlanta Braves baseball, or WWE pay per view; however, even though he enjoyed watching his teams on television, anyone who knew Chris knows his first love was bowling. He met his wife, Kathy, at the bowling alley when they were young children, and his future father-in-law was their coach. Over the years, he achieved many accolades including fifteen sanctioned 300 games - the first of which was at age 13, four 800 sets, and championships too numerous to list. When he wasn't bowling, golfing, or watching sports with his friends he could usually be found cuddling with one of his many fur babies or spoiling his fur nieces and nephews. Chris consistently showed his love for animals by adopting and pet sitting many dogs, cats, and birds throughout his life who will miss him as much as his human companions.3 He was born on August 4, 1976 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,4 He married Kathy Sue Jenkins, daughter of Ralph Wayne Jenkins and Lois Marie Earley, on September 22, 2007 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,2 Christopher Brian "Chris" Taylor died on May 17, 2025 at Virginia at age 48.3
