"Jim" Salkil and Sarah Virginia Hayner, on September 2, 1922 at Eldey, Stone Co., Missouri.¹ Amanda "Mandy" Andrus died on April 4, 1991 at Aurora, Lawrence Co., Missouri, at age 84.^3,4,1 She AURORA, Mo. - Amanda Salkill, 84, Aurora, died at 11:18 a.m. Thursday at Aurora Community Hcispital after a long illness. Mrs. Salkill was born Dec. 4, 1906, in Stone County. She was a retired factory worker. She married Emmett Salkill on Sept. 2, 1922, at Elsey near Crane. He died Sept. 24, 1978. Survivors include five sons, Rudolph Salkill, Wichita, Kan., Loren Salkill, North Carolina, Robert Salkill, Weir, Kan., Willard Salkill, Arkansas, and Carroll Salkill, Aurora; a daughter, Beverly Yount, Mount Vemon; a brother, Floyd Andrus, Crane; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora, with the Rev. Dean Cox officiating. Burial will be in Crane Community Cemetery. on April 5, 1991.¹

     Rudolph Roy Salkil was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, 6231 West 47th Street S., Wichita, Sedgwick Co., Kansas.⁴ He Rudolph Roy Salkil, 89, retired welder, died Saturday, May 23, 2015. Survived by sons, Alan and Stephen Salkil, both of Wichita; Gary Salkill of Marietta, GA; daughters, Latricia Mingle of Haysville, Sharon Morgan, Deborah Salkil and Stephanie Salkil, all of Wichita; siblings, Loren, Robert, Carrol and Willard Salkill, Beverly Yount; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie.⁵ He was born on November 4, 1925 at Crane, Stone Co., Missouri.^3,4 He married Bonnie Mae Morris on December 23, 1950.⁴ Rudolph Roy Salkil died on May 23, 2015 at Kansas at age 89.^4,5

     Loren Ephream Salkill Loren E. Salkill, 90, of Fremont went to be with the Lord Saturday evening, October 13, 2018 at home with his family surrounding him. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. Entombment will follow the service. Born in Crane, Missouri, he grew up on the farm and taking trains to California to work in the fields during harvest times with his four brothers, Rudolph, Robert, Willard and Carroll Salkill and his one sister, Beverley Yount. He was drafted into the Army in 1950 and served as a Corporal in the Korean War out of Camp Crowder, MO. After the war, he became a plant maintenance supervisor for Owens-Illinois who he worked for in Illinois, Pennsylvania and eventually North Carolina where he retired in 1984. He was married to the love of his life, Eleanor Salkill for 60 years. They raised three wonderful children and loved to travel together. Mr. Loren, as he was known to many, was a true gentlemen and family man. He was one of the kindest and caring souls to have ever walk this earth. You could always count on a sweet smile to welcome you and a genuine conversation to follow. He fought a tough battle with Parkinson's until his very last breath and was determined to keep going despite the disease. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amanda Andrus; his father, Emmett Salkill; his wife, Eleanor Salkill and his brother, Rudolph Salkill. He is survived by his three children, Anita Grimes & husband, David of Fremont, Alicia Salkill of Fremont and Randy Salkill & wife, Tammi of Fremont; six grandchildren, Brandon Grimes & wife, Amber of Fremont, Brooks Grimes of Fremont, Zach Harmon & partner, Alex of Fremont, Ashton Grimes & wife, Stephanie of Pikeville, Kyle Harmon & wife, Lauren of Four Oaks and Lisa Tyner & husband, Craig of Goldsboro; as well as his ten great-grandchildren, Ashley Peters & husband, Matt, Taylor Adams & fiancé, Aaron, Gabe Grimes, Garrett Grimes, Jayden Grimes, Payton Grimes, Blakely Grimes, Katie Gray, Cayden Grimes and Abigail Grimes all whom were his entire world, he loved with all of his heart and knew would continue on his wonderful legacy.³ He was buried at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 Highway 70 West, Goldsboro, Wayne Co., North Carolina.^3,4 He was born on August 23, 1928 at Barry Co., Missouri.^2,4 He married Eleanor Ray Singleton circa 1954 at Batavia, Kane Co., Illinois.⁸ Loren Ephream Salkill died on October 13, 2018 at Fremont, Wayne Co., North Carolina, at age 90.^3,4

     Eleanor Ray Singleton was buried at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 Highway 70 West, Goldsboro, Wayne Co., North Carolina.^2,1 She was born on July 26, 1931 at Wilmington, New Hanover Co., North Carolina.^2,1 As of circa 1954,her married name was Salkill.¹ She married Loren Ephream Salkill, son of Emmett Salkill and Amanda "Mandy" Andrus, circa 1954 at Batavia, Kane Co., Illinois.¹ Eleanor Ray Singleton died on November 11, 2014 at Fremont, Wayne Co., North Carolina, at age 83.^2,1 She Fremont - Eleanor Ray Singleton Salkill (or as everyone knew her Mrs. Ellie), 83 of Fremont passed away peacefully Tuesday morning with family by her side, and Mr. Loren (husband of 60 years) beside her holding her hand. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home in Goldsboro with visitation to follow. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery in Princeton at 11 a.m. Mrs. Ellie was born July 26, 1931 in Wilmington, NC to Rosa Lee Corbett. She grew up in Goldsboro and attended William Street School until she was 16 when she was forced to leave and take care of her 3 sisters after the passing of her mother. From there she moved to Illinois in 1951 looking for work when she befriended Beverly Yount of Mount Vernon, MO. While on a trip down to Missouri she meet Beverly’s brother Loren Salkill and 4 months later they were married in Batavia, Ill. There they lived for another 20 years where they had both daughters Anita Grimes and Alicia Salkill. Finally making their way back to NC where Mrs. Ellie took in foster children and made Randy Salkill one of their own. She was a dedicated member of Stantonsburg Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years. On April 1, 1985 she decided to open Princeton Daycare in a small town, in a little house, with only 13 children she loved and cared her way for almost 30 years through multiple buildings and thousands of children and parents of the community and surrounding areas. She was a mother and grandmother to all of us, and a Saint even to those who she didn’t even know. Her love and enormous heart will forever be missed but continue to shine on through the hearts she touched with her wisdom and the smiles on children’s faces. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Rosa Lee Corbett of Goldsboro; sisters, Nell Ree Daily, Shirley Brand of Chicago, and Johnny Rose Hunt. She was survived by her husband Loren Salkill of Fremont; daughters Anita Grimes and husband Gerald of Fremont, Alicia Salkill of Fremont, and son Randy Salkill and wife Tammi of Fremont; Step brother Jim Combs, Marty Combs, and step sister Norma Jean Walston; Grandchildren Lisa Adams of Fremont, Brandon Grimes of Fremont, Brooks Grimes and wife Casey of Fremont, Zachary Harmon of Fremont, Ashton Grimes and wife Stephanie of Selma, and Kyle Harmon of Pikeville; Great Grandchildren Ashley Peters and husband Matt of Goldsboro, Taylor Adams of Erwin, Gabriel Grimes of Fremont, Garret Grimes of Fremont, Jaden Grimes of Fremont, Peyton Grimes of Fremont, Blakely Grimes of Fremont, and Cayden David Grimes of Selma. on November 13, 2014.¹
