     Leo Lewis Medley Leo Medley, age 53, died in Humble, Texas on Thursday May 14, 1998. At the time of his death he was undergoing treatment for brain cancer. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Rebecca "Becky" Herron Medley; his loving son, Jason, daughter-in-law, Emily, beloved granddaughter, Savannah; and his loving son, Mark. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Barnett, brother Carl and his wife, Patsy; brother, James and his wife, Debbe; and numerous other relatives and friends. Leo was a 1963 graduate of Texas City High School and a 1967 graduate of the University of Houston. From 1967 to 1969 he served in the Army as a medic from 1976 to 1979 was a Paratrooper with the 36th Airborne Brigade of the Texas Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged at the rank of staff sergeant. From 1970 to 1979 he was a Harris County probation officer. In 1979 he joined the Humble Police Department as a patrol officer and retired from the department in 1997 at the rank of Assistant Chief. He was a graduate of the Harris County sheriff's Academy and the FBI National Academy (161st session). He would ask a that his family and friends celebrate his life rather than mourn his death. In lieu of flowers a family as asked that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Humble. Following the funeral a military graveside service will be conducted at Rosewood Funeral Home. At his request Mr. Medley's ashes will be scattered at the family's cabin and in Montgomery County near Richards, Texas. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Luin Engle Martin, in 1980; a son, Howard "Louie" Martin; a sister, Dot Porter; and brothers, Jim Walker and Pete Lampkins. Gloria was a homemaker, but had formerly sold Avon, through which she truly enjoyed meeting all the people. She also worked as a waitress at Parker's Restaurant. Gloria enjoyed attending Faith Freewill Baptist Church of Danese with her church family. Surviving: sons, Curtis Martin and wife Donna of Danese, and Donnie Martin of Danese; grandchildren, Jennifer Sawyers and husband Eric of Layland, and Jason Luin Martin of Chicago, Ill; great-grandchild, Brycen Anthony Sawyers of Layland; brother, Andrew "Bud" Walker of Backus Mountain; and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Services were Feb. 18 at her church, Faith Freewill Baptist Church of Danese, with Pastor Allen Whitt officiating. Burial followed at Patton Cemetery, Meadow Bridge. on February 24, 2011.²
